Our Friday post is dedicated to Les Brookfield who turns 97 today 🎉🎉
Les attends every week with his daughters and has just ticked over 170 parkruns, such an amazing achievement and a great example to anyone wishing to attend for the first time or return after an extended break.

We say it every week. We had some irate cyclists last week not happy we had taken up the whole path, if you see someone coming towards you please move to the Left, our volunteers don’t need to be yelled at.
Under 11’s need to participate with a parent or designated adult over 18.
One 🐕 on a short, hand held lead
No bikes or scooters 🚲 🛴
Only cross the finish line once and take a finish token to scan with your barcode, but don’t take it home we need these every week.

What an innings 👏 ... a cliche from a different sport I know 😂

Wow! We’ve been totally blown away by the wonderful comments and memories people have shared over the past week. Again, our thanks to the people of Dubbo and district who have supported our family business for more than 53 years. Anthony Barnes and Veronica Schulz, signing off for the last time.

I wonder how many Tennis racquets and Tennis balls they have sold? 🎾

I wonder how many people bought their 1st Tennis racquet from there and how many re-strings they have done!?

They certainly have contributed to Tennis in Dubbo in so many ways!

It’s the end of an era for SportsPower Dubbo after 53 years.

Owner Anthony Barnes says: “It is a bittersweet moment. I wasn’t actively looking to sell the business but I was made an offer too good to refuse.

After 33 years working at SportsPower Dubbo, I’ve decided to move onto the next stage of my life and I thank the people of Dubbo and district who have supported our family business for more than 53 years.

The new owners have decided to transition the business to the Intersport group and I wish them every success in the future and hope they get as much satisfaction from serving the community as I have.”
