Reset In 5 Reminder

If you're feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or anxious, it's OK to take 5 minutes to stop and reset.

Try this 5 Minute Reset

๐—ฆ๐˜๐—ผ๐—ฝ what you're doing.

๐—ฃ๐—ฎ๐˜‚๐˜€๐—ฒ - notice, and acknowledge, what or how you're feeling.
Whatever it is, it's Ok to feel or think this way.......even if you can't quite describe what you are sensing. It might simply be a sense of "yuck" and that's OK.

๐—ฅ๐—ฒ๐˜€๐—ฒ๐˜ - It's nice to place your hand on your heart or your belly, notice the rise and fall of your breath, where ever that may be in your body.

๐—•๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ต๐—ฒ - notice your breath, allow yourself to take a couple of slow breaths, as deeply as you can, then allow your breath to flow naturally. Just notice.

And, if you feel like it, go and grab a cuppa or step outside for a moment and get some fresh air.

You can do this as many times as you need, whenever you need to.โค๏ธ

Self-care needn't take long.

Reset In 5 - Pause. Breathe. Reset

Take a moment, right now, ๐™Ž๐™๐™Š๐™‹. Put down what ever it is you are doing, turn your devices off.

And ๐™‹๐˜ผ๐™๐™Ž๐™€.

Notice your surrounds, what you can see, hear, touch, smell, and taste. Doesn't matter what it is, simply notice.

The is no right or wrong way. Simply allow yourself to "BE" in this moment, connecting to your senses.

Place a hand on your belly, and then allow yourself to ๐˜ฝ๐™๐™€๐˜ผ๐™๐™ƒ๐™€.

Breathe deeply as you are able to, softly, slowly. Then slowly exhale.

Repeat this as often as you need to.

Feel that? That's you taking back control. โค๏ธ

RIP Dolly. Such a beautiful, kind human.

American country music legend Dolly Parton has died, aged 80.

A beloved icon and philanthropist, Parton was one of the most recognisable stars of the country music world for decades.

Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, made the announcement on social media.

"My family and I have shared a lifetime of beautiful memories with Dolly, but so have you," he said in a video message.

Do you feel like this?

A major Australian study finds parents caring for young children with disability are twice as likely to say they are in poor health, feeling constantly in demand and lonely.

Parents navigating raising a neurodivergent child, often live in constant mental planning.

Appointments.

Therapies.

School communication.

Future worries.

Your brain rarely gets to switch off.

This simple grounding exercise gently brings your mind back into the present moment instead of the โ€œwhat ifs.โ€

It wonโ€™t solve everything.

But it can interrupt the spiral long enough for your nervous system to settle.

And sometimes that small pause is exactly what your brain needs.

Save this for the moments when your thoughts start racing.

Reset In 5

Digital Detox time!

Time to turn off your phone, device, or watch or switch them to silent mode and put on "do not disturb".

Take a moment to simply "Be", and begin by noticing all the objects around you.

What are they? Trees or plants outside, pets, or objects on your desk? Perhaps a view in the distance?

Notice their shape, colours, & textures. What else are you aware of?

Turning your attention to your feet (yes).

What do they feel like? What are they on or connected to? What other sensations are you aware of? The sensation of them being in shoes, on carpet or the floor? It's Ok if you can not sense anything, simply be aware of that.

Place, gently your hand on your belly, noticing any rise and fall or internal sounds and movements.

When you're ready, allow yourself to come back to the here and now, go for a walk or get up and stretch before going back to whatever it was that you were doing.

Reset In 5 Moment - Touch

Time for a 5 Minute Reset.

So, taking a moment, notice what you may be touching right now.

What are you noticing about the surface or object you may be holding? Textured, smooth or a combination? Perhaps allowing yourself to notice how it's shape feels to touch?

If you are not holding or touching anything, perhaps take a moment to notice how your body feels against the surface that you are sitting on? Standing on? Notice the pressure of your body or feet.

Perhaps it's the sensation of clothing against your skin? Is it soft or heavy? Does feel nice or unpleasant?

What else are you aware of? Take a moment to notice one thing about surface, object or sensation, simply notice.
