Popped the roof for the Merc out of the mold recently. I’m happy enough with it considering the complex shapes in some spots and first go at a multi-piece mold. Weight saving over the steel roof is about 26kg… so I’m using that to justify the many many hours it took to get this far.

No stranger to the National Sports Sedan Series through the past decade, Tasmania’s Alex hasn’t had much seat time lately and is really fizzing at the b**g to get back in the Series 6 RX7 turbo at Big Bad Sandown. Not mucking around, his dad Laurie had the car prepped ready to go a month out from the event.
All 3 races live on Blend Line TV; weekend pass $30

As I look at it now it doesn’t seem so much but making the roof/pillar mold has been a big job. Almost ready to pull it apart and see how I did.

Laurie’s been hard at work on the 20B car. Engine is back together with some new goodies. He’s also made up some side skirts to modernise the car and maybe a bit more aero. Will get it out for a test at the next opportunity.

Local gun Alex Williams will have the red rocket out, more brap brap power on the grid, its sure to humble some V8 lads. Local track knowledge is sure to give this father and son team some fire power as the mainlanders make the boat trip across.

The FD is a popular shape in sports sedans, and its clear why, it looks badass and its a tiny slippery shape ready to cut through to cool air of the apple isle.
