Last month, our leadership team joined colleagues from Belgravia Leisure venues across Victoria and Tasmania for a two-day conference focused on learning, connection and excellence.

We were incredibly proud to be recognised at the conference awards evening, receiving the 2026 Belgravia Leisure Vic/Tas Safety Award.

This award reflects something we value deeply at Splash: safety is everyone's responsibility. It is woven into our culture, our systems and our everyday actions.

After becoming the first aquatic facility in Tasmania to achieve Royal Life Saving Australia's Five Star Pool Safety Accreditation in 2024, Splash Devonport has continued to demonstrate an unwavering commitment to safety, achieving:

✅ 97% Health & Safety Internal Audit (October 2025)
✅ 97% Health & Safety Internal Audit (April 2026)
✅ 99% AFSA Overall Safety Score
✅ 100% AFSA Five Star Safety Score

We are extremely proud of our team whose commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence has made this achievement possible.

Thank you to every staff member who helps make Splash a safe place for our community every day.

Our lifeguards are trained to supervise the pool and respond in emergencies, but parents and carers play the most important role in keeping children safe around water.

When visiting our venue, stay close, stay engaged, and keep your focus on children in and around the water, at all times. By working together, we can help create a safer and more enjoyable aquatic experience for everyone.

Your supervision makes all the difference. Learn more via the Aquatic Supervision page on our website.

Earlier this week, members of our Leadership Team and staff at Splash Devonport Aquatic & Leisure Centre had the privilege of attending Cultural Humility Training delivered by the wonderful team at Welcome Cultural Services.

Cultural humility is about developing self-awareness, embracing lifelong learning, and building a deeper understanding of the diverse communities we serve. The training provided valuable insights into effective communication, inclusivity, and respectful engagement with people from a wide range of cultural backgrounds.

At Splash, we are committed to creating a welcoming, safe, and inclusive environment for everyone who walks through our doors. Investing in opportunities like this helps us strengthen our ability to connect with and support all members of our community.

A big thank you to Welcome Cultural Services for sharing their knowledge and expertise with our team.

Together, we're continuing to learn, grow, and build a more inclusive Splash for our community.
