Nightcliff Tigers fell to Palmerston and Rural Reds 9-8 on Sunday on the final play of the game. Palmerston and Rural Reds were down 8-7 in the bottom of the fifth inning when Vivian Wei singled, scoring two runs.

Nightcliff Tigers collected 10 hits and Palmerston and Rural Reds had 11 in the high-scoring affair.

Nightcliff Tigers got on the board in the top of the first inning after Anthony Zamolo doubled down the right field line, and Adrian Handford singled down the right field line, each scoring one run.

A double by Zamolo, and a single by Blake Burns helped Nightcliff Tigers extend their early lead in the third.

Palmerston and Rural Reds flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring six runs on five hits to take the lead, 7-5. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by Simon Garder that drove in two.

Nightcliff Tigers took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Handford doubled down the right field line, Dave Schroeder was struck by a pitch, and Kayden North- Palmer walked, each scoring one run.

Wei earned the win for Palmerston and Rural Reds. The pitcher allowed seven hits and four runs over two innings, striking out one and walking none. Handford took the loss for Nightcliff Tigers. The pitcher went four innings, giving up nine runs (seven earned) on 11 hits, striking out three and walking two. Macca earned the save.

Nightcliff Tigers piled up 10 hits in the game. Zamolo provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Nightcliff Tigers with three runs batted in. The 3-hole hitter went 2-for-2 on the day. Handford, Zamolo, and Trent K each collected two hits for Nightcliff Tigers. Zamolo, Schroeder, and Big V each stole multiple bases for Nightcliff Tigers. Nightcliff Tigers stole eight bases in the game. Nightcliff Tigers turned one double play in the game.

Palmerston and Rural Reds tallied 11 hits in the game. Chris Comitalo, Tim Palmer, Jamie Dom, and Leo Sayer each collected two hits for Palmerston and Rural Reds. Wei led Palmerston and Rural Reds with three runs batted in. The pitcher went 1-for-3 on the day. Palmerston and Rural Reds turned one double play in the game..

Nightcliff Tigers Secure Win Against Palmerston and Rural Reds with a influx of new players to the league today

Nightcliff Tigers were triumphant over Palmerston and Rural Reds 6-3 on Sunday.

Nightcliff Tigers got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Anthony Zamolo singled down the left field line, Lane Mccarty doubled to center field, and Ben Lawerence doubled down the left field line, each scoring one run.

Nightcliff Tigers added one run in the second. Mccarty doubled to center field, making the score 4-0.

Nightcliff Tigers added two runs in the third after Nightcliff Tigers scored on a wild pitch.

Lawerence earned the win for Nightcliff Tigers. The starter gave up five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking four. Alejandro Diaz took the loss for Palmerston and Rural Reds. The righty went five innings, allowing three runs (zero earned) on five hits, striking out eight and walking two. Vivian Wei led things off on the bump for Palmerston and Rural Reds. The starter surrendered four hits and three runs over one inning, striking out none and walking one.

Nightcliff Tigers tallied nine hits in the game. Mccarty provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Nightcliff Tigers with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 2-for-4 on the day. Wei and Tim Palmer each drove in one run for Palmerston and Rural Reds. Jadon Love went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Palmerston and Rural Reds in hits. Wayne Martin, Daniel Stanton, and Hamish Sulley each stole multiple bases for Palmerston and Rural Reds. Palmerston and Rural Reds stole eight bases in the last inning
