Sprint #1 in the bag.
Congratulations to all of our competitors this morning. We tried to pick a favourite but we couldn’t.
The morning would not have been made possible if it wasn’t for our RD Barb, fruitman Chris G, iceman Adam F, and smooth operations on the rego desk with Trudy and Claire L. Of course Darwin’s very own Timelord Gary had the stats at his fingertips. Lots of behind the scenes work was also done by Kate B. Give these people a big kiss (but always ask permission of course).
Tom Muecke and Kylie Scholtz took out the long course. They wouldn’t have got there so quickly without the “friendly” competition breathing down their necks.
A shout out to all those who took part in their first triathlon with us, and some returning faces.
Race highlights included breaking through the ice on Lake Alex, watching an entire pack of swimmers veer towards the wrong buoy, but recover it nicely, some complex wardrobe changes, and lots of lovely accents.
What was your race highlight? (Also we might be fishing for the gossip below as well. Any dags out there get something hilariously wrong?)

Recently crowned Ironman Craig, and 70.3 age group champion Trudy were putting in the effort at Friday Track Club this morning.
We thought about asking them for training and mindset tips. And we thought the answer might be to forget all that and buy a DTC hat. “The hat is the key to success,” is something they might well have said.
Buy using the link below and pick up on Sunday’s race.
