🎯 WINTER/SPRING 2026 RULE CHANGES 🎯

Hey MDL players! As we get ready for the new season, the Official Playing Rules have been updated based on the recently passed motions. Here is a concise breakdown of the main changes:

- Earlier Start Time: Play is to commence at 7:30 PM on a competition night. A 15-minute grace period applies, making the absolute latest start time 7:45 PM to ensure everyone gets home at a reasonable hour.

- Singles Match Format: We are moving from legs to sets to seamlessly align with DartConnect. Division 1 and 2 will play the best three (3) of five (5) legs. Division 3 will play the best two (2) of three (3) legs.

- Doubles Match Format: This stays as is! All divisions will continue to play the best two (2) of three (3) legs for pairs matches.

- 51-Dart Limit: Each leg will have a 51-dart limit per player to ensure games are completed in a reasonable time. Upon both players reaching 51 darts thrown, the leg will be decided by a bull-off. Note: The 51-dart limit will not apply to finals matches.

- Deciding Legs: If any set comes down to a deciding game/leg, there will be a bull-off to determine which player throws first.

- Finals Scoring: A "First to 5" points system is now used for finals. The first team to accumulate six (5) points in a match is deemed the winner, and no further matches will be played.

🎯 MDL DIVISIONAL SINGLES – THIS FRIDAY AT MDDA 🎯

This Friday, 3rd July, we’re running our Divisional Singles Tournament at MDDA - a great chance to test yourself in the one‑on‑one format and enjoy another big night of darts.

Players from all divisions are welcome, but you must have your name registered by 7:45pm to take part. Once entries close, we’ll lock in the draw and get straight into matches.

If you’re keen for more darts after the Grand Finals or just want to jump into some competitive singles action, come on down and get involved.

🎯 DIVISION 1 – GRAND FINAL RESULT 🎯

The Division 1 Grand Final proved one-sided from the outset, with the High 5’s once again rising to the big stage and claiming another premiership. They controlled the match from start to finish, powering past the MDDA Bullseyes 11–4 to secure the 2026 Summer/Autumn Division 1 Premiers title.

A tough night for the Bullseyes after a strong finals run, and another clinical performance from the High 5’s, who continue to build their legacy in Division 1.

🎯 DIVISION 2 – GRAND FINAL RESULT 🎯

Division 2 delivered an absolute classic on the main stage at MDDA.
Redbacks 1 and Check Out went blow‑for‑blow all night, neither side giving an inch, and every leg feeling bigger than the last.

It all came down to the final leg, and Redbacks 1 held their nerve when it mattered most, clinching an 11–10 victory to become the 2026 Summer/Autumn Division 2 Premiers.

A heartbreaking finish for Check Out after a brilliant season, and a gutsy, unforgettable win for Redbacks 1.

🎯 DIVISION 3 – GRAND FINAL RESULT 🎯

What a Grand Final.

Just Do It, a player short and backs against the wall, pushed the Stingrays all the way in an absolute thriller. Both sides traded momentum all night, every leg felt like a turning point, and the crowd was riding every dart.

In the end, the Stingrays held firm in the clutch moments, claiming an 11–9 victory to become the 2026 Summer/Autumn Division 3 Premiers.

A gutsy fight from Just Do It, and a massive performance from the Stingrays to finish their finals run in style with the shield!

🎯 GRAND FINAL WEEK – THIS FRIDAY AT MDDA! 🎯

We’re down to the final night of the Summer/Autumn 2026 season, and all three divisions will be battling it out for the title of Premiers this Friday at MDDA.

As part of the MDL community, this is the night to get down and back the remaining teams. Grand Final night always brings a huge atmosphere, and the players absolutely thrive on the noise and support. We even provide spectators with a light supper!

At the conclusion of all three Grand Finals, we’ll be presenting the Premiership Shields to our Division 1, Division 2, and Division 3 Premiers. Stick around, celebrate with the winners, and help us close out another massive MDL season.
