GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CLUB MEMBERS-
PETER GIBB. A dependable opening bowler and respected leader, Peter Gibb captained South Croydon’s 2nd XI for many seasons and was renowned for his accuracy, discipline and commitment to the game. A capable lower-order batsman, Peter always found a way to contribute when the team needed him.

As a Captain, he was passionate about developing bowlers, with his trademark expectation that they earn the right to bowl to an “8 and 1 field”—a reward reserved only for those who demonstrated exceptional control and discipline, qualities Peter embodied throughout his own playing career.

Away from cricket, Peter is a passionate Melbourne Football Club supporter and a proud 50-year member of the MCC. A former South Croydon Football Club Seconds and Juniors coach, he has dedicated countless hours to community sport.

Friendly, approachable and always happy for a chat, Peter is one of those people who makes every club stronger simply by being part of it.

💍 Congratulations Dale & Thi Lan! 💍
On behalf of everyone at South Croydon Cricket Club, we’d like to congratulate Dale Mathias and his beautiful bride, Thi Lan Ngo, on their recent marriage.

Known around the club as “The Wild Thing” and “Mad Dog”, Dale has been a much-loved member of our cricket family for many years. While Dale and Thi Lan have recently made the move to Noble Park, we hope this is not the last we see of them around the club.

We wish you both a lifetime of love, happiness, laughter and wonderful memories together as you begin this exciting new chapter.
