What a fantastic day for the Cranbourne Football Club.

A massive congratulations to our All Abilities B Grade team, who are FIDA PREMIERS after a brilliant 77–52 Grand Final victory over Kananook! 🔵🟡

Most importantly, this is a football team that has trained, competed, represented our jumper and earned the right to play on Grand Final day — and today they got their reward.

Our All Abilities program has been part of Cranbourne for many years and is an incredibly important part of who we are as a football club. We currently field two teams in the FIDA competition, continuing a program built around football, mateship, teamwork and belonging.

To every player who pulled on the Cranbourne jumper this season — congratulations. You are premiership players and nobody can ever take that away from you.

To the coaches, team staff, families, carers, volunteers and everyone behind the scenes who gets our teams onto the park each week, thank you. Days like today belong to all of you as well.

And congratulations to Kananook on reaching the Grand Final and on a terrific contest today.

SEASON DONE | RESERVES

Our Reserves’ season has come to an end, going down by just 6 points in today’s Elimination Final.

It was a hard-fought game with several comebacks throughout the day. The boys continued to find a way back into the contest despite all that was thrown at them and fought it right through to the final siren.

The Cranbourne Football Club would also like to send our best wishes to Joel Mcgaw from dingley_fnc, who unfortunately suffered a serious foot injury during the game. It was an unfortunate football incident, but you certainly couldn’t fault Ryan’s endeavour or attack on the contest. We wish him all the very best with his recovery.

A huge thank you to Jay Mills, his coaching and support team, and every player who represented our Reserves throughout the year.

The Reserves are the lifeblood of any football club. Clubs simply don’t function without the players, coaches, volunteers and helpers who turn up every week and keep that side going. Strong football clubs invariably have strong Reserves programs, and the depth they create goes a long way towards sustained success across an entire club.

Thank you to everyone who helped our Ressies in any capacity this season, and to everyone who supported the boys today.

What an effort from our Under 19s, winning a one-point thriller today to book their place in the Grand Final!

After finishing third, the boys have now put together two terrific finals performances and earned themselves a well-deserved week off.

The biggest thing has been the way this group has grown throughout the year. They turned their season around at the midway point, stuck together and continued to improve week after week. Today they produced a genuine finals brand of football — tough, committed and playing for each other — and the whole club couldn’t be prouder of them.

A massive thank you as well to the Cranbourne supporters, families and volunteers who were there today. The support around this group has been fantastic and certainly didn’t go unnoticed in such a close game. 💙💛

Congratulations to Josh, the coaching group and all the boys. You’ve earned the opportunity that’s now in front of you.

🐎 A NIGHT AT THE RACES FOR H 💙💛

The Cranbourne Football Club would love to see our players, past players, members and supporters get behind a special night for one of our own — John “H” Hetherington.

H’s contribution to the Cranbourne Football Club spans more than 30 years.

From coaching our Thirds through the mid-90s — including the 1997 premiership — to serving five years as Club Secretary, assisting senior coaches, spending countless Saturdays on the boundary as board man and team support, helping generations of coaches and players, and incredibly returning to coach our Under 19s again in 2024.

H was made a Life Member in 2004, but his contribution certainly didn’t stop there.

The positions on an honour board only tell part of the story. For more than three decades, H has simply been one of those people who has always been around the Cranbourne Football Club, willing to put his hand up and help wherever he was needed.

Now it’s our opportunity to get behind H. 💙💛

Five individual awards in one night is an unbelievable achievement and a great reflection of the talent coming through Cranbourne.

From everyone at the Senior Football Club, congratulations to all five players, their families, coaches, teammates and everyone involved at the Junior Club.

For us, it’s especially exciting watching these young Eagles coming through and knowing the next chapter of their football journey isn’t too far away.
