THAT’S A WRAP ON OUR 2026 JUNIOR SEASON! 🏑

What a great way to finish off our junior season last Wednesday night at Geelong Ninjas! 🥷

It was fantastic to have so many of our junior players and families together for one last night to celebrate the season, hand out our awards and, most importantly, have a bit of fun together!

A huge thank you to all of our junior players for being part of the Jags this year. We hope you’ve enjoyed your hockey, made some great friends and had plenty of fun along the way.

And of course, a big thank you to all of our parents and families who make junior hockey possible each week — getting the kids to training, washing uniforms, finding that missing mouthguard at the last minute 😂 and dragging everyone out of bed for those early Saturday and Sunday morning games... even the trips down to Torquay!

We know junior sport is a commitment for the whole family and we really appreciate all of the support you’ve given the kids, our teams and the club throughout the season.

We also want to once again thank our amazing coaches and team managers who gave up so much of their time throughout the year. There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get our teams onto the pitch each week and we are very lucky to have people willing to put their hands up and make it happen.

There were also plenty of others who helped out along the way — at training, on game days, helping with specialist coaching or simply jumping in wherever they were needed.

A special thank you to Allison Groot , Antony Hocking and Tom Griffin, along with everyone else who lent a hand throughout the season. It certainly didn't go unnoticed and was very much appreciated. 👏

And finally, thank you to everyone who helped make our Junior Celebration Evening such a great night. Pizza, presentations and an hour of kids running around Geelong Ninjas seemed like a pretty good way to finish the year! 😂

That might be a wrap on our Winter season, but we won't be away for too long...

🏑 SUMMER HOCKEY IS COMING!

Our Summer Hockey season will kick off in the last week of October, and we'd love to see all of our Jags juniors back again. More information will be coming out over the next few weeks.

For now, enjoy the break and thank you again to everyone who was part of our junior season in 2026.

This September, we’re giving kids aged 5–16 the chance to do exactly that – for FREE! 💙💛

The Geelong Jaguars are running 4 weeks of FREE Come Try Hockey sessions at Stead Park, giving local kids the chance to get out on the pitch and see what hockey is actually all about.

And when we say come and try it, we mean exactly that.

🏑 No experience needed
🏑 No hockey equipment needed – we’ll provide it
🏑 No need to commit to all four weeks

Come to one session and see what they think.

Love it? Come back the next week.
Want to do all four? Even better.

We’ll show them the basics, get a stick in their hands and a ball at their feet, and let them experience hockey for themselves.

📅 Mondays from 14th September – for 4 weeks

🚗 Access via Station Street, or park in the Johns Street car park and walk through to the pitch

What to bring: Just comfortable clothes, runners, a mouthguard (required) and water bottle – we’ll take care of the hockey gear. 🏑💧

And there’s another reason we reckon now is a pretty exciting time to give hockey a go.

Our brand-new, world-class facilities at Stead Park are getting closer to completion, with a whole new chapter for hockey in Geelong just around the corner. 👀🏑

And if they happen to fall in love with hockey along the way (like so many of our players have! 💙💛), we’ll be kicking off a brand-new Summer Hockey season on the new facilities in late October/early November.

So these four weeks are the perfect chance to give hockey a try first – no pressure, no commitment and no cost – just come and see what they think.

Bring a mate along too and try something different together.

They might love it.
They might be surprisingly good at it.

They might just find their next sport.

Whether you're playing, coaching, a parent, past player or just part of the Jaguar family, we'd love to see plenty of blue around the grounds cheering our teams on.

A few important notes for anyone heading to Stead Park:

🚗 Parking is available in the Stead Park car park and on the grass via the Station Street entrance.

🚶 Pitch access is via the path behind the old clubrooms (same as training) or via Station Street.

🚻 Toilets are available at the far end of the pitch, opposite the access path.

🪑 Seating is limited, so please bring a chair if you're coming along to watch.

⚠️ Only players, coaches and team managers are permitted in the dugouts during games. Teams are also asked not to enter the dugouts until the previous teams have left, and to please exit promptly after their game.
