❤️ Help for Moffo ❤️

Dear Randwick Petersham Cricket Club

I hope you don’t mind me reaching out with a very personal request regarding my dad, Bill Moffatt ‘Moffo’.

Dad was involved with Randwick Petersham Cricket Club for many years, and the club was a very important part of his life. ‘Moffo’ was a member of Petersham-Marrickville’s 1st Grade Premiership 1974-76 team. He has always spoken fondly of his time with the club and the friendships and memories he made there.

Dad is now 81 years old and, after a prolonged period in hospital, he is no longer able to live independently. We are trying to arrange for him to move from a Sydney Hospital to an aged care facility on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland, where he can be close to family and receive the ongoing aged care, advocacy, love and support he now needs.

Unfortunately, the cost of transporting him safely from Sydney to Queensland has become a significant financial burden for our family. We have now set up a GoFundMe to help cover the cost of his medical transport and relocation.

I’m reaching out to the club because Dad was such a long-standing part of the cricket community, and I wondered whether the club, its members, or anyone who remembers Dad might be willing to support him in some way. Even a small donation, or simply sharing the GoFundMe with former players and members who knew him, would mean an enormous amount to us.

This is a very difficult time for our family, and our biggest priority is simply getting Dad safely to Queensland so that he can be closer to the people who love him and receive the care he needs.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Dad’s story. We completely understand that not everyone is in a position to contribute financially, but any support, kindness or sharing of the fundraiser would be deeply appreciated.

It would mean a great deal to Dad and to our family to know that the cricket community he was part of for so many years is still thinking of him.
