PRESENTATION NIGHT 2026 | THE PREMIER AWARDS 🏴‍☠️🏉

Since 1900, West Harbour has been home to legends — 126 years of players who've bled black, white and red, on a ground that once hosted a Rugby World Cup. 🏴‍☠️

The Premier Awards are our highest honours, and they carry the names of the people who built this club. At the very top sits the A.L. Vincent Trophy — our most prestigious award, its winners etched onto the honour board for generations. To take one home isn't just about a season. It's your name written into that history, alongside every Pirate who came before.

These are the players and people who stood above the rest in 2026. Swipe through to meet your winners. 👏

To every one of them — this club could not be prouder.

And to the ones who lead us — our club captains set the standard all year. But one deserves a mention of his own. Cam Orr — skipper of our first Men's Grade side and our Head of Pathways — is one of the most important people at this club. On the field and off it, he lifts everyone around him and gives more to the black, white and red than most will ever see. Thank you for your dedication this year, Cam. We're grateful to have you, and we couldn't be more excited for what you'll bring to the Pirates in the years ahead. 🖤

And a special mention to our General Manager, Peter Johnston. A true old boy of this club, Peter has given years of himself to the black, white and red — and this year he made it official, stepping into the General Manager role. The work he's put in behind the scenes has been enormous, and the club is in better shape for it. We're incredibly lucky to have him, and we can't wait for the years ahead with Peter at the helm. 🖤

To everyone who pulled on the jersey this year, across Men's Grade, Women's Grade and our Colts: thank you. This is what 126 years is built on.

And to everyone off the field — our coaches, managers, staff, volunteers, and every single person who gave their time to back this club — thank you. None of it happens without you.

PRESENTATION NIGHT 2026 | MEN'S GRADE WINNERS & MILESTONES 🏴‍☠️

The engine room of the club. 👏 From 1st Grade down to 4th, our men left everything on the paddock in 2026 — swipe through for every Best Forward, Best Back, our top point and try scorers, and a big list of milestone Pirates.

A few we have to shout out:

🔴 Sonny Satuala — 150 Grade Games.
⚫ Ben Huckstepp — 100 Grade Games.
Two massive milestones for a couple of proper clubmen. Here's hoping there's plenty more games — and milestones — left in them yet.

⭐ And a special thank you to Jack Debreczeni and Pete Samu, who joined the boys off the back of their NSW Waratahs season to run with us this year. 🏴‍☠️

For Pete Samu, a first season in the black, white and red — and a big one for the club. Having a Wallaby come down and run out with the boys lifted everyone around him. And it wasn't just on the field — the commitment he showed at training and getting around our club events was something we really appreciated. Welcome aboard the pirate ship, Pete — great to have you on board. 🏴‍☠️

For Jack, a homecoming to the club that's always been his. As he hangs up the boots, we couldn't be more excited to see him stay on and shape our next generation as Head of Colts — the perfect next chapter for a true Pirate. Thank you both. 🏴‍☠️

PRESENTATION NIGHT 2026 | PEARLS SEASON AWARD WINNERS 🏴‍☠️🏉

What a first chapter. 👏 In their very first season together in Women's Division 2, our Pearls announced themselves — falling just short of finals against a quality side, but leaving no doubt about what this group is building. For a team in its debut year, we could not be prouder.

Celebrating our 2026 Pearls season award winners:

⚫ Amelia Steventon — Back of the Year & Top Point Scorer, and all in her debut season for the club. A remarkable first year for this young gun. 🔥

⚫ Kowhai Vakalolo — Forward of the Year. Not just a leader of the Pearls but one of our club captains — we're lucky to have her, for the Pearls and for West Harbour as a whole. 🖤

First season together, and this is only the beginning. The Pearls are here to stay.

PRESENTATION NIGHT 2026 | COLTS & PATHWAYS WINNERS 🏴‍☠️

Our future in black, white and red. 👏 Presentation Night shone a light on the best of our Colts and Pathways — swipe through to see every winner across 1st, 2nd and 3rd Colts, our Sevens and a big games milestone.

A special one this year: congratulations to Sean Costello, the very first winner of the inaugural Phil McCrea Award — 2026 Junior Player of the Year. First name in the history books, and a fitting one. 🏆

And to Shaps — thank you, and farewell. As you move on from the club, know that the heart you poured into our Colts and Pathways leaves a mark that runs far deeper than any scoreboard. You shaped these boys on the field and off it, and we were proud to thank you on the night. Once a Pirate, always a Pirate. 🖤

Colts Coaching Update
Welcome, Jack.

Jack Debreczeni is our new Head of Colts, and few players in this club's history bring a stronger playing pedigree to it. He came through Trinity's First XV and our own Colts, graduated into West Harbour First Grade, then built a serious Super Rugby career, 104 caps across the Melbourne Rebels, the Chiefs, the Brumbies and the Waratahs, further honours including the Barbarians and a First Nations and Pasifika XV, and time playing professionally in Japan. He's still closely involved with the Waratahs today, as their attack coach in Super Rugby AU. That playing career, and that live connection to the top of the game, is exactly what this role needs.

Mark Atkinson and Tom Games, our HPC Directors, have led the last three years of work building a strong foundation for our Colts program, backed by plenty of others across the club who've contributed along the way. Mark draws on his high-performance background across AFL, NRL and European rugby, including time with Bath Rugby and England Rugby, and Tom brings his own decorated playing career at the club and in Europe. Jack now joins them at exactly the right time, with the results of that work now within reach.

That work now has a name: the Pirate Pathway, our combined pipeline from Colts through the Academy and First Grade, all the way to Super Rugby and international rugby. The foundations are strong, and with Jack now part of it, the results won't be far behind.

Jack's role will work hand in hand with our Academy program for school-age players, run by his childhood friend Cameron Orr. Cam is West Harbour's First Grade captain and a former Super Rugby, English Premiership and MLR player. Between them, this program now has two high-calibre professionals shaping the next generation side by side.

West Harbour has never just produced one type of player. This club has sent talent all the way to Test rugby, and Cam and Jack carry on a lineage that runs deep at two positions that shape a team's spine: prop and fly-half. Wallabies Salesi Ma'afu, Scott Sio and Allan Alaalatoa have all worn our colours in the front row, alongside internationals Campese Ma'afu and Michael Alaalatoa. At number 10, Wallaby Stephen James did the same, and Dan Parks also went on to represent his country at Test level. Cam extends that line at prop. Jack extends it at fly-half. The pathway keeps running, and there is more still to come.

More players like Jack are exactly what this program is now built to attract. Our ambition is straightforward: give local club and school players a genuine high-performance home, right here at Concord Oval. If you know a player who belongs in a program like this, reach out to [email protected].

Jack's family have long been part of the fabric here. His mum Di and dad Mick have remained a constant, much loved presence around the club throughout his years playing at the top level, and it means plenty to have them still so involved as Jack begins this next chapter.

We'll use this Friday's whole-of-club presentation night to formally welcome Jack into the role in front of the whole community.

Tough day across the grades against Eastern Suburbs — closing out the regular season.

And to our Pearls, bowing out 12-13 in the semi-final — what a season. So much heart, right to the end.

That’s 2026 done. Time to reset, work hard, and come back stronger in 2027. We don’t roam. 🏴‍☠️
