Tonight we had two overseas visitors drop into A.B Headquarters, fresh off a flight from Korea 🇰🇷 — landing in Sydney at 9am this morning!
James and Steven are HYROX enthusiasts, but this Sunday they’ll be swapping the sleds and wall balls for 42.2km as they take on the Sydney Marathon 🏃♂️💨
And apparently these boys are the sub-3-hour marathon type. 😮💨🔥
We also discovered Koreans are built different… because tapering apparently isn’t a thing 😂 Both boys jumped straight into today’s strength session AND WOD — and then casually informed us they’ll be hitting the town tonight. 🍻🤣
Best of luck on Sunday, boys! We hope you absolutely smash it, along with our four A.B representatives taking on this iconic event.
Go well, legends! 🇰🇷🇦🇺🏃♂️

I’ll take that.
0.06 seconds off my PB, post-injury, in HYROX Pro.
And knowing I probably left a full minute out there after doing 4¼ sled pull laps before realising I was done… AND then running 50m the wrong way heading into the lunges. 🤦🏽♂️😂
Normally, that would infuriate me. I’d be thinking about what I got wrong and the time I threw away.
Not this time.
There’s been a “story” behind at least my last five races, and eventually doubt starts to creep in. You start wondering whether you’re kidding yourself about still being competitive.
Nine days out from the World Championships, I partially tore my hamstring. I raced Stockholm and then HYROX Sydney nursing it and dosed up on Voltaren, just hoping to get through both races.
The hammy still isn’t 100%.
But my confidence is back.
A 1:15 in Men’s Pro 45–49 got me on the podium at Sydney in 2025. Last night, that same sort of time put me 9th.
That tells you how competitive this age group has become. There are some proper athletes in their late 40s — and they’re going to be bloody hard to catch.
But that doesn’t make me want to stop.
It makes me want to keep pushing.
Slowly getting back to my pre-accident race times and actually feeling competitive again is an absolute win.
Now for brekky with my mother-in-law… arguably the most important event of the weekend.

Fair to say it was a bloody FAB day. 🖤

BUDDHA OF THE MONTH 🧡
So well deserved, Melinda!
She shows up 6 days a week, with the occasional double thrown in, and never misses a chance to lift those around her.
As co-captain of our Monday Run Club, she's always rallying the crew and is the ultimate team player.
One of our favourite things is watching her train side by side with her absolute GOAT of a daughter, Mikayla. 💪
Consistent. Positive. Always all in.
Congratulations, Mel! 🧡
