What an amazing team of talent we have heading into the SwimTek Junior WA Short Course Championships starting Saturday 12th September 2026 🤩
Congrats to all our swimmers and coaches for getting to this point. A quick shout out to Evinley who also qualified but won't be racing this weekend, see you at the next one! Also well done to our newbies and young ones filling important spots in relay teams and as Reserves, you are so appreciated. Keep working hard and your time will come ✨

And our final 3 swimmers adding to the medal tally at the SC State Championships were Denise, Arash & Caleb.
Denise swam a personal best time in the 200m FLY and took home a gold shiny one 🥇
Arash came out strong in the 1500m FS. He got the night off to a cracking start demolishing his old time by over 34sec to claim the Bronze medal 👏 In keeping with the distance events he decided to go one better and took home two Silver medals in the 800m FS and the 400m FS!! He finished with a clean sweep of great PBs for his 6 events.
Rounding out the team was Caleb who was busy swimming 7 events and two relays and won a Bronze medal in the huge 400m IM 👌
Amazing work by each of these swimmers!!

Our sprint girl Ary was at her best at the Age Champs. She came out hard from the get go and nailed a second place finish in her first two events of her program, the 50m FS and 50m FLY 🙌 Her fine form continued with a Bronze medal in the 100m FLY !! She was also on fire in the relays with strong legs in both the Medley and Freestyle.
And if that wasn't enough to get your attention 😁 Ary also secured a National Opens SC qualifying time and set 2 new SLD Club Records in the 50m FS for both the 15yrs girls and Opens.
What a star ✨🎉 Congrats Ary on your fantastic results!

From the beginning, this young lady knew that breaststroke was her calling, and she hasn't looked back since. Aliyah owns the breaststroke at SLD with her swims at the State Championships last weekend claiming the Club records in all 3 distances in both the 16yrs girls and Open categories 👏👏 She also went on to take out the Bronze medal position in the 200m BR!! 🥉
Overall, Aliyah had a solid performance pushing hard in the 50m BR taking nearly a whole second off an already cracking pace 💪 She raced 6 events for 6 personal best times and swam in 2 relays for the Club. She also made 3 National Open Short Course qualifying times 🎉
Another super effort to be proud of 🙌 Well done Aliyah !!

It was another successful outing for Sienna at the Age & Open Champs. Small but mighty, Sienna, had an excellent return on investment bagging 5 medals from her 7 individual events!!
Always a hard worker and this comp was no different finishing top 5 in all her events ✨ At 17yrs of age she is continuing to set the standard at our Club by smashing 4 Club records in the 100m & 200m BR and the big 400m IM in the Open category as well!! 👏👏👏👏
Sienna sets a great example of dedication and perseverance for our swimmers on their journey into what it takes to perform at the Senior level. Congrats on your achievements 🙌

Frankie came out fighting on the first day of States claiming a Silver medal in the long mile also known as the 1500m FS 🥈 With a heavy workload he had to slightly unload due to health, and gave it his best over 9 events and a relay 👊
With another long distance event on the cards he pushed through and managed to drop over 3sec in his 800m FS and continued to speed up his sprint races. This time securing a medal of the Bronze variety for a speedy 50m FLY. Throw in a couple of tidy top 5 finishes and it was job done!
Well done Frankie for persevering and showing up for your team 👏

Leo had a great hitout at the SC Age Championships. He was running a big program and he sure did deliver! Leo had speed to burn and it was green for go all the way! Chipping away at all his times he even pb'd on PBs👏 In a couple of milestone swims he went sub 1min for his 100m FLY and snuck in under 25sec for his 50m FS in the opening leg of the relay!! His fastest backstroke was also in the lead leg of the medley relay, looking like we might just need to keep him swimming relays 🤣 What a great sportsman bringing his best for his team 💯
His 50m BK also gained him a new Club Record and he rounded out the weekend with 4 medals. Two Gold ones for his smooth as silk, doesn't get any better, Butterfly and a Bronze for his blistering speed in the 100m FS and 50m BK 💪

Miss Tilly, the stalwart of Silver Squad. Reliable, dependable and strongly dedicated to her swimming. You can always count on her to produce a steady performance and the weekend gone was no different.
Another one of our swimmers with a solid program of 9 events and 2 relays saw some really good improvements in her racing. From shaving off milliseconds in her sprints to a handy 10.30sec pb in her 800m FS landing her a bronze medal.
Tilly started her SC Championship campaign in style medaling early on in her States program with a bronze in the 100m IM and later dropping over 2sec in her 200m IM to secure first place and a Goldie 🥇✨ Amazing!!
Great results Tilly, you represent our Club so well!!

Maria is a machine, just saying ... This girl was already so good across all the strokes and now her recent move to Silver Squad has elevated her swimming to another level!
In her first Senior States, Maria took it right up to the competition and then said see ya later 👊😁
She swam some impressive PBs in the 400m & 800m FS including setting a new Club Record in the 400m FS and went sub 10min in the 800m FS ✨
With a huge workload of 11 races she didn't think twice and smashed out 11 personal bests and landed herself a mention in the Top Achievers of the Meet! 👌
And then of course there were a few medals to throw in the mix, just a lazy 8 of them 😲 2 gold, 4 silver and 2 bronze 🎉
She will need a rest from all that neck jewellery right after her folks pop down to Bunnings to buy
some more hooks for the wall 😁🥇 🥈 🥉 Amazing work Maria 🧡🖤

For those who don't know, Edie was very busy on the weekend at the SC Age Champs 😄 Where to begin?
Edie has been working hard all year and is continuing to outdo herself! Competing in 8 events, her freestyle was on fire 🔥 medaling in all 5 freestyle events, and even twice in the 800m FS for 18yrs and Womens taking home a full bag of 6 medals.
She then backed it up by setting 7, (yep you read that correctly), 7 new Club Records in the 18yrs and Open categories 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏 And now the even more amazing part of this story is that she broke the 400m FS record that has stood for 26yrs!!! Set by none other than our lovely life member Nina Trapp's daughter back in 2000 😲
But the story of her weekend doesn't end there, she also made the qualifying times in 4 National Open SC events 🙌
Congrats Edie for a job beyond well done 👌
