Huge congratulations to Brunswick Dragons local legends (and St Joseph’s Primary School stars) who just wrapped up an unforgettable experience representing Team Vic at the School Sport Australia Australian Football 12 Years and Under Championships.

They made state history as the first brother and sister twins from the same local club to be selected in the boys’ and girls’ Team Vic AFL squads in the same year.

Here’s a look at their incredible journey:

Grassroots Roots: Their footy story started right here at Gillon Oval during Saturday morning Auskick, building a love for the game that has taken them all the way to the state level.

The Grind: Behind the state jumper was months of dedication, endless hard work, and endless miles driven across Melbourne for elite training sessions and grueling trials.

Side-by-Side Support: In a perfect twist, the boys' and girls' championship games were scheduled so they could cheer each other on from the sidelines every step of the way.

Multi-Sport Stars: Beyond the footy oval, both are absolute powerhouses who balance their AFL passion with a love for other sports.

From local Auskickers to representing Victoria, the entire experience has been immensely rewarding for the pair and a massive point of pride for our school and club communities.

Meet Jade from Marian College Myrtleford! 🏃‍♀️✨

Jade is in her final year of school, and she has achieved something truly remarkable. She went back to back champion for 2025 and 2026 in the 17-20 female 3km State Cross Country! 🥇🏆

What makes this even more inspiring is that Jade only started running last year and is hoping to take her athletics further once she finishes school. She is immensely grateful for the opportunities School Sport Victoria has provided to compete at such high levels, and she went to sleep with a huge smile on her face! 🌟💤😊
