Trampoline Interclub – Words from Coach Melanie

Sixteen young trampolinists competed in Trampoline’s third Interclub of the year, hosted by Redland City Gymsports at our second venue, the Sleeman Centre. The competition caters for Level 1–3 athletes, and once again our little club punched well above its weight.

Our girls had a fantastic day, with Maliyah, Ruby and Skyla taking gold, silver and bronze across the trampoline and double mini events. Ruby also took gold in tumbling and the All Around. Our boys also shone, winning medals in almost every event.

As always, these competitions rely on the incredible support of our coaches and judges. A huge thank you to Charlotte Johnstone, Malcolm McBride, Jed Bomford, Levi Coutts Hohenhaus, Ella Brushe and Melanie Tonks for judging, and to Lesley Daly for coaching, encouraging and supporting our athletes throughout the day.

A special thank you to the Bell family and Dale Brushe, who helped both set up and pack down. Your time and effort were hugely appreciated ☺️

Next Stop: National Clubs Championships

Our next competition is the National Clubs Championships, being held at Carrara from 17–20 September. This is the biggest competition of the year, with a team of 35 representing Redland City Gymsports across Levels 4–7 through to Senior International. With athletes competing in almost every level and discipline, we can’t wait to see them take the floor!

Following on from an email sent earlier today, the Tiny Home organisers have incorrectly set up.thier fencing today so the only access to the Gym is to enter via the boom gate entrance at the bottom of the plaza and walk around to trampoline end. See attached picture.

Council is aware and trying to rectify rhe situation and it may br sorted soon but please be aware of the restrictions.

Queensland Levels Competition - From Coach Melanie

Congratulations to the 27 Redland City Gymsports athletes who competed at the Queensland Levels Competition at Logan Metro over the weekend. It was a big weekend of competition, and once again, our athletes made us proud.

A huge thank you to our coaches and judges who stepped up to support our athletes and club throughout the weekend.

Coaches: Joe Finley, Anna Platt and Charlotte Johnstone
Judges: Malcolm McBride, Jed Bomford, Tyga Stimson, Ella Brushe, Levi Coutts-Hohenhaus, Hudson Brown, Jo Van Dam and Myself.

A special thank you to Anna and Charlotte, who did double duty as both coaches and judges.

Standout Performances 🏆
Casey Strongman – 2 gold and 1 silver medal in a fantastic comeback after being unable to compete all year.

Jed Bomford – Competing across all disciplines, Jed won the Level 6 All Around, along with gold, silver and bronze medals, and a 5th place in Double Mini.

Baxter Richardson (11) – Won 3 silver medals after stepping up to Youth U13 from Level 5. A very encouraging result for his future.

Indie White – In her first-ever competition, Indie achieved silver in DMT and bronze in tumbling. A fantastic debut!

What’s Next?

In two weeks, we head to Chandler for a Level 1–3 Interclub, before turning our attention to the biggest event on our club calendar, National Clubs at the Gold Coast.

We have 32 competitors entered, and everyone is working hard in preparation. National Clubs is also a qualifier for next year’s Nationals, so there is plenty to work towards!

We wish all of our athletes the very best as they continue their preparation. Go Redlands!
