What a start for Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club.
Round One of the ongoing qualification campaign is done and dusted, and our boys have put together a fantastic effort ,4 wins from 5 games.
A huge congratulations to every single player. The result is not just about the wins; it is about the hard work, commitment, discipline and, most importantly, the brotherhood we have built together. Not Every Battle Is Fought in Our Colours, But Every Gurkha Carries the Same Spirit.
The curtains have closed on another unforgettable Nice Queensland Nepalese Premier League - QNPL season, but some stories deserve to be remembered!
Today, we celebrate our own.
To many, we were the underdogs.
To us, we were brothers chasing the same dream.
Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club has never been about individual glory. It has always been about family, loyalty, sacrifice, and the courage to stand together when no one believes in us. Every player who represented us in this year's QNPL carried that badge with pride, no matter which colours they wore. You are the heartbeat of this club. You are the reason we continue to dream bigger every season.
A standing ovation to our very own Anish Baniya, who finished the tournament as the Best Batsman of QNPL. What an incredible achievement. We know this is only the first chapter of a much bigger story. Keep believing, keep working, and keep making us proud. The best is yet to come.
Congratulations to our captain for leading his team to championship glory. Great captains inspire others to believe that impossible dreams can become reality. We are proud to call you one of our own.
To Jigar Jadav and Aashish Pou Del, thank you for representing the Gurkha spirit with pride, determination, and passion. Every moment you spent on the field reminded us why this club is so special.
We have never wanted the easy road.
We have never waited for people to call us favourites.
We are Gurkhas.
We are stubborn.
We are relentless.
We are hungry.
We step onto the battlefield with humility, but inside us burns the heart of a lion. Let others overlook us. Let others underestimate us. We will keep working in silence until the day our roar cannot be ignored.
To every new player who has joined the Royal Gurkhas family, welcome home. You are now part of something much bigger than a cricket club. You are part of a brotherhood that never gives up, never backs down, and never stops believing. Together we will chase bigger dreams, create unforgettable memories, and build a legacy that future Gurkhas will be proud to carry.
This is the beginning of something special.
The dream is alive.
The fire is burning.
The brotherhood grows stronger every single day.
One Club. One Family. One Dream.
Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club!
PS 😄
A huge congratulations to our lost and gone brother कृष्ण डाँगी क्षेत्री for terrorising batters all tournament, setting the platform for victory, and then casually collecting the Player of the Match award in the grand final. We are extremely proud of you. Just remember, no matter whose jersey you wear, we'll always say we built the machine, someone else just got to drive it.

First of all, huge congratulations to both the teams who have qualified for the finale of the Nice T20 Cup.
Especially to Nepalese Rhino Cricket Club for securing their ticket in such… unforgettable circumstances.
And of course, a standing ovation to the ever-so-professional Queensland Nepalese Cricket Association-QNCA for brilliantly forgetting to even mention the Final Round 2 (Semi-Final) clash between
Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club and Rhinos last Sunday.
Maybe it wasn’t important enough? No worries, we’ll handle the match report ourselves.
Here’s the “not-so-important” summary:
After losing the toss, Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club was sent in to bat on a slippery, rain-affected pitch. While the weather tried its best to stop us, our boys stood firm and posted a commanding 182 runs. Captain Sam led from the front with a classy half-century. Superb batting support from Jigar Jadav, Krishna, and Pawan Jung Karki , pure grit on a dangerous surface.
Chasing 183, the excitement lasted a breathtaking 1.2 overs before the match was officially called off. And just like that, Rhino Cricket Club secured their place in the finale.
Despite a fighting total and outstanding batting performances, the Man of the Match award unanimously goes to “The Rain”. Truly match-winning stuff.
We won’t talk about “ कर्मा ”
We are fighters , we fight till the very end.
Yes, we remember the match where we chose not to continue after a red card was shown to the umpires.
And yes, we also remember how eager some were to play on while one of our warriors lay on the field with a broken and dislocated shoulder. Compassion clearly wasn’t in everyone’s game plan ,winning at any cost seemed more important.
That was the first innings.
This time, the innings was complete ,and survival lasted only 1.2 overs.
Anyway, what goes around comes around. We are Gurkhas. We come from behind, and when we return, we return harder. Period.
Lastly, heartfelt thanks to Silver Ray Realty- Brisbane and AR O ON for all the constant support and belief in Royal Gurkhas Cricket Club.
Jay Gurkhas 🙏

MATCH UPDATE – ROYAL GURKHAS vs NICE Nepalese Cricket Club Brisbane
NCCB won the toss and decided to send us in to bowl first. Our boys stepped up with discipline, focus, and that calm गोर्खा attitude we’re proud of.
Bowling Highlights:
Captain Sam struck early with two quick wickets, putting immediate pressure on the NCCB top order. He bowled like a man who had absolutely no intention of dragging the game out.
Basically:
“Stay focused, lads. Keep building.”
And sometimes: “मूला, wrap it up boys. I’ve got Muffin waiting.”
Then came Rupan Rayamajhi “The Mystery Spinner”. He delivered an outstanding spell: 4 overs, 3 wickets, only 8 runs.
Flight, dip, precision—he had everything going. Even the most settled batters were being tested. A proper, well-earned spell of quality bowling.
NCCB didn’t give in easily though. They fought back well and reached 106 runs, showing real determination and making sure the game stayed competitive.
The Chase:
Anish Baniya opened with a calm, grounded presence—exactly what the chase needed.
Pawan Jung Karki and Jigar Jadav backed him up beautifully, timing the ball cleanly and hitting boundaries with confidence.
We got to the target in 13.4 overs, losing 4 wickets along the way.
A big thank you to Arun Tiwari and Silver Ray Realty- Brisbane for their continued support. We do the work on the field, but the journey is always shared with those who stand behind us.
Man of the Match:
🏅 Rupan Rayamajhi — for his brilliant, match-changing spell of mystery spin.
जय गोर्खा 🙏

Nice Builds Premier Cup – Round 2
Royal Gurkhas vs Nepalese Tigers Cricket Club
What a day at Col Westaway Oval! After winning the toss, the RGCC boys chose to bat first — and the bat spoke proudly.
A massive total of 226/2 was put on the board with pure discipline and controlled aggression:

Jigar Jadav – unbeaten 56 (4 fours, 4 sixes)
Pawan Karki – sharp 39 off 27
Sam Pokhrel – handy 11 off 7
Then the Gurkha discipline with the ball took over. Our bowlers marched in as a unit and restricted Sapphire Nepalese Tigers to just 60 runs, sealing a dominant 166-run victory.
Bowling Highlights:
Nabodit Chhetri – 3 wickets
Sam Pokhrel – 3 wickets
Rupan Rayamajhi – 2 wickets
Strong fielding contributions from Krishna, Jigar, Pawan, and Nabodit kept the pressure tight throughout.
We also acknowledge Sangham Ashish and Nabin for their relentless, ruthless spells that maintained an unbreakable grip on the innings.
Much respect to Sapphire Nepalese Tigers — a disciplined team that played with true sportsmanship. Every battle on the field strengthens both sides, and we appreciate their effort and spirit.
A big Dhan'yabad 🙏 to our sponsor Silver Ray Realty- Brisbane and Arun Tiwari for continuously believing in the Royal Gurkhas. Your support keeps the Gurkha spirit moving forward.
