🏊‍♂️ This weekend, we witnessed an incredible display of unity and strength at the inaugural “Shore-2-Shore” swim along the stunning West Australian coastline. From Port Beach in the south to Trigg Beach in the north, swimmers embarked on a remarkable journey, covering 18km over 3 stages in the pristine waters of the Indian Ocean.

The true magic of this event lies in its ability to bring together swimmers from diverse backgrounds – different clubs, squads, and “pods” – all united by the shared challenge of conquering the “Indian Ocean Odyssea” as one. 🌟 Despite the competitive nature of swimming, this event transcended rivalry and celebrated the spirit of camaraderie and collaboration.

As each stroke propelled swimmers forward, bonds were forged, friendships were strengthened, and memories were made that will last a lifetime. 🤝💙 It’s moments like these that remind us of the profound connection we share with each other and the ocean, and the transformative power of coming together in pursuit of a common goal.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this incredible event. 🙏 Let’s continue to cherish the joy of swimming and the sense of community it fosters, both in and out of the water. Here’s to many more adventures and shared triumphs ahead! 🌊✨

The inaugural “Shore-2-Shore” Indian Ocean Odyssea has left us breathless with excitement over the last three days! 🙌 From the glistening waves of Port Beach to the picturesque shores of Trigg Beach, swimmers conquered a challenging 18km route, marking the triumph of determination and resilience. 🏅 And amidst the waves, one story shines brighter than the rest - meet Hamish Humphreys, the first-time soloist, aged 34, whose unwavering spirit and dedication have inspired us all! 🌟 (Check out his victorious smile in the picture!) 📸

🚀 This entirely FREE community swimming event “made for the people, by the people” features 3 Stages a-là Tour de France style covering a total of 18km. We lost a few potential finishers today to the wrath of the stingers (jellyfish), but still well over 100 people training for and and took advantage of the epic conditions this morning to complete another 6.4km on the journey north to Trigg Beach where we will finish tomorrow.

🎉 An amazing performance came in the form of 70yr old Nic Harrison who totally blitzed the 2hr mark with swim partner Yukari - we want to be like Nic when we grow up!

🐠 Join us tomorrow the 3rd and final stage using the sign up link in our bio, starting at 6am from the City Beach’s southern groyne and finishing at South Trigg between 7.40am and 8.45am. Bring a buddy to swim with 👍

Congratulations to the incredible 128 swimmers who conquered Stage 1 of the inaugural Shore-2-Shore swim from Port Beach to the iconic Cottesloe Beach! 🌊 This 4.7km journey was a testament to your strength, determination, and love for open water swimming. Hit the beach early and chilling by the pool and bbq…still doesn’t feel quite ‘right’ but as this is now my 22nd Christmas here, at age 45, it’s gotta feel like the “new normal” soon enough!
