Chermside parkrun
Chermside parkrun is a free, timed, 5km run/walk put on by the community for the community at 7am ev The great thing is that you only ever need to do this once!
parkrun is not a race against other runners, but a 5km timed run, jog or walk. It can really be whatever you want it to be, whether that's for fun or as part of a training plan. Chermside parkrun offers an opportunity for all members of our local community, male or female, young or old, to come together on a regular basis to enjoy our beautiful environment and get physically active in the process.

Chermside parkrun
Event number 528
29th August 2026
This week we had 304 people run, jog and walk the course, of whom 39 were first timers and 43 recorded new Personal Bests, with people coming from as far as Tasmania and New Zealand to join us on what would have been a balmy morning for them. Representatives of 19 different clubs took part.
Today was also a day for milestones, with at least one person celebrating a running milestone from 25 through to 500, and Chermside parkunner of the year recipients Jeanette and Stephen Solley celebrating 50 volunteers!
The event was made possible by 17 volunteers:
Jeanette SOLLEY • Stephen SOLLEY • Tracey WOOD • Ross STANLEY • Kaylene COSSART • Karen HENNINGS • John HENNINGS • Rebecca FORTESCUE-PHILLIPS • Julie FORTESCUE-PHILLIPS • Jack X ROACHE • Arifah HASTIE • Joshua RISCHIN • Robyn LONGMAN • Denis MONTEIRO • Loretta MURRAY • Kate THOMAS • Akari YAMADA
Without the work of our volunteers, parkrun simply cannot go ahead. Our roster is looking very light for next week, so if you have ever thought about volunteering send us a message and we can find the perfect role for you!
Finally, good luck to everyone in our community running Sydney Marathon tomorrow, including our very own Volunteer Co-ordinator Arifah. We'll all be cheering you on tomorrow!
Today's full results and a complete event history can be found on the Chermside parkrun Results Page.
Chermside parkrun started on 22nd August 2015. Since then 15,739 participants have completed 113,616 parkruns covering a total distance of 568,080 km, including 15,418 new Personal Bests. A total of 1,156 individuals have volunteered 7,803 times.

After the festivities of last week, did anyone else find it hard to go back to reality? Thankfully, we’ve got less than 24 hours until parkrun tomorrow!
With our large crowd last weekend, it’s a good reminder to consider riding a bike down, getting the bus, or parking at Westfield and walking across, as the carpark at 7th Brigade Park does fill up pretty quickly.
As always, we’ll do a first timers welcome around 6:45, with the main briefing kicking off afterwards.
There will also be a coffee van parked at Kidspace tomorrow morning for your post-parkrun refuelling needs
