Friday nights at Jack Barker Oval are set to come alive again as our Woolworths Blasters program returns for the 2026/27 season!

Designed to help young cricketers build their skills, confidence and love of the game, Master Blasters is all about learning, playing, making friends and having plenty of fun along the way!🙌

We are excited to be a recipient of funding from the Victorian Government through the Suburban Rail Loop East Community Projects Fund.

We were lucky to secure $24,072.75 in funding. This funding will allow us to improve our facilities for not only our members but also for the wider community. We will be using this funding to secure the following:

- 2x New Cricket Roller
- 1x Roller Cover
- 1x Absorption Roller (Super Sopper)
- 1x Whole square cover
- 1x Single wicket cover & new pegs

This funding means an enormous amount to our club and is another important step in ensuring our facilities continue to grow alongside our community. Investing in and upgrading our facilities is vital to the long-term future of Cheltenham Cricket Club, allowing us to provide the best possible environment for our players, members and volunteers today, while building a stronger and more sustainable club for generations to come.

🔒 OUR LEADERS ARE LOCKED IN 🔒

With the 2026/27 season getting closer, we’re excited to officially announce the leaders of our 2nd, 3rd and 4th XIs.

2ND XI: MATTY ANDREWS
Matty Andrews steps into the 2nd XI captaincy, taking the reins from Nick Ellery.

We can’t announce this change without acknowledging the outstanding contribution Nick has made as captain. His leadership has played a huge part in the success and culture of our 2nd XI throughout his reign, highlighted by lifting the One Day Premiership last season. We’re incredibly grateful for everything Nick has given to the role.

Now it’s Matty’s turn to lead the group, and we’re excited to see him put his own stamp on the side and take this team into its next chapter.

3RD XI: ZAC “WOMBAT” KNEEN
After serving as vice-captain alongside Matthew Boyes last season, Wombat officially takes the reins of the 3rd XI.

Again, on behalf of the entire club we would like to thank and acknowledge the tremendous work Boyesy has done leading the 3rd XI over the last few years.

A young, emerging leader who has grown in leaps and bounds both on and off the field in recent years, Zac is someone who is loved and respected right across the club.

This is another exciting step in his development, and we can’t wait to see Wombat make the role his own.

4TH XI: BEN “KINGY” KING

Ben King returns to lead our 4th XI for another season.

Kingy has been an absolute rock of our Sunday side since its formation and continues to embody what the team is all about enjoying your cricket, bringing people together and representing the club with pride.

We couldn’t be happier to have him back at the helm for 2026/27.

A massive congratulations to Matty, Wombat and Kingy on their appointments.

After months of planning and preparation, it’s time to get back together, get to work and start building towards a massive 2026/27 season.
