Monday 22 July Grand Finals

What a great night of table tennis. Some fantastic matches played in both singles and doubles.
2 matches were won 3-1 and the other 2 matches went to advantage in the 5th game of the doubles to be decided.

Congratulations to all players and a big thank you to those who turned up to support the teams.

Results:
S1: Li/Brown (Def) defeated Archbold/Jones (Ch) 3 - 1
S2: Zhou/Collier (Def) defeated Williams/John/Galvin (Ch) 3 - 1
S3: Chi/Shah (LC) defeated Al-Hadweh/Tadros (LC) 3 - 2 [12-10 in 5th games of doubles]
S4: Kikhel/Tiwari (Def) defeated Carli/Molloy (LC) 3 - 2 [14 - 12 in 5th game of the doubles]

Interestingly if you look at where all the teams finished on the ladder at the end of the season:
S1: 4th beat 2nd
S2: 3rd beat 1st
S3: 1st beat 2nd
S4: 4th beat 1st.
Does this mean it's best to finish 4th on the ladder?
Surely it's better than 5th where I ended up.

Don't forget the education session (see separate email) on July 2nd & 6th
Looking forward to see you back for our Spring season which commences on July 13th

An excellent turnout yesterday for the come and try table tennis day for youth under 18 was held at Chelsea Heights Community Center. About 25 kids turned up, played games, received a bit of tuition and had a lot of fun.
Thanks to all who participated to make the day such a success.

Had a wonderful time at Westfield SouthlandWestfield promoting the Marty Supreme movie at Village Cinemas.
The general public who filled in the form went into a draw to win a table tennis table and were able to play a 1-point match against a Competition Table Tennis Player.
If they won the point, they received a free choc top.
Thanks Village Cinemas and Table Tennis Victoria for organizing all this. It was a lot of fun and the people who participated had a fantastic time.

Can't wait to see the movie myself.

SETTA AGM was held Monday 8th December 2025. The event was well attended and trophies were presented. Here's a few of the winners for the year.
Many thanks to Mez the Prez for steering the ship for the past 12 months. A special mention to Jeff Gardner who has held several positions for a number of years and does so much for us all.
