I used to teach yoga in Cantonese when I was in Hong Kong. Since I moved to Melbourne in 2024, I’ve had to teach in English. When I first started teaching in Melbourne, I was terrified!🥲

I overthought every word, every cue, every little mistake.

Now, I still get nervous sometimes. But I trust myself a little more.

Still learning.
Still practicing.
Still growing.🤍

If you’re on a similar journey, you’re welcome here.🫶🏻

Looking back at these photos from two years ago, I used to think teaching yoga was mostly about knowing the poses, planning a good class, and having the right words to say.😂

Turns out… there’s a lot more to it.

Still learning, still practicing, and still saying “one more time” approximately 47 times. 🤣

And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. 🤍

Dory is the bravest dog in the world.🤍

She was born at Hong Kong Guide Dog Association, but from day one she was different.
She had a cleft palate and struggled to feed. Milk would come out of her nose. While her siblings were growing fast, she was barely gaining weight.

But she fought. Every single day.

At 4 months old, she had her first surgery to repair her palate.
Before she even turned one, she had a second repair.
At 14 months, she went through desexing too.

Each time I saw her tiny body recovering from surgery, I wished I could take her place.

When she turned 2, we moved to Melbourne 🇦🇺
For the first time, she had more space, big blue skies, grass to run on. She finally got to just be a happy dog.

Recently, we noticed her breathing sounded deeper and louder. After tests and a scope under sedation, she was diagnosed with Laryngeal Paralysis.

The surgery reduces the risk of suffocation, but it comes with lifelong management and risks too. We took time to think it through carefully before making the decision.
But in the end, we chose to give her the safest chance to breathe.

Her surgery went well. She’s still a little sad and quiet, but she is healing. And she is still so, so brave.

From the day she was born, she has never stopped fighting to live.

She is my heart. Always will be. 🤍
