We've been planning a little something something in the background...and now we're in a spot to share the exciting news with you all!! 🥳

Allow me to paint a picture for you, back to the beginning...🎨🖌️
In 2025, a handful of RBSC players attended a round robin soccer charity event waaaaaaaay over on the western side of Brisbane. It was mixed teams, it was raising money for charity, it was super rainy and wet by the end BUT it was A LOT of fun and every single player had an absolute blast that on our looooooooong drive home we got to chatting and it was decided that we should do something similar, but closer to home with our club...So! As a committee we've been doing some wheeling and dealing in the background over the past few months (aka lining up our T's and C's and making sure everything is above board for all!) and now we are ready to launch the first (of what we hope will be many!) Rivers Baptist Charity Soccer Tournament!🏆⚽

So here's what you need to know📝
When: Saturday 4 July
Time: First kick off will be 12pm
Where: John Oxley fields, Murrumba Downs
Age limit: Must be turning 15 in 2026
Team sizes: 9 aside of mixed teams - 4 women, 5 men (unlimited subs)
How many teams: maximum 10 teams for this comp, so get in quick to register!!
Layout of the afternoon: It will be a round robin style competition, played across 4 fields, 30minute games with a 10minute changeover between games
Registration fee: You decide! Pending how many players you have in your team. As an example, $20 a player, for about 4 games of football for the afternoon is a pretty good bargain we think!
Charity of choice: We will be supporting the great work that Carinity is doing at Orana House in Bald Hills. Orana House provides crisis accommodation and emergency housing for young people aged 16 to 21 years who have become, or are at risk of becoming, homeless. Rivers Baptist Church have a rich history with Orana House, raising money in the 70's to set up the original youth shelter called, Hassel House.
