This year, we’re proud to be supporting RSPCA Victoria and the incredible work they do caring for, protecting and rehoming animals across Victoria. ❤️

To help raise funds, we’ll be holding our very own Cupcake Day on Saturday 19th of September!

There’ll be plenty of delicious cupcakes available, with all funds raised going towards supporting RSPCA Victoria and the animals in their care. 🐶🐱🐾

🥋 Tournament Update 2026 🥋

As many of you may already know, this year we will not be running our annual Ish*tobi-Ha Sh*to-Ryu Shukokai Oceania – Victorian Championships.

Instead, we would like to encourage all of our Sendai Karate students and fellow Union members to support and participate in the Alan Murdoch Open, taking place on:

📅 Sunday, 30th August 2026
📍 Gloria Pyke Netball Complex

- First Event $80
- Each Subsequent Event $15

* Elite and Development Divisions
* Senior Mixed Team Kumite
* Teams of 3 (2 males and 1 female)
* Gather your mates – you don’t have to be from the same dojo
* $45 per team

We believe this will be a great opportunity for our students to gain valuable tournament experience, test their skills, support one another, and enjoy competing alongside members of the wider karate community.

Please speak with Jean Sensei before registering, so we can make sure you are entering the appropriate events and divisions and help you prepare for the tournament.

Your guidance, passion, and commitment have helped shape generations of students, and your influence continues to be felt every time we train 🙏

🌟 Important Announcement – Mizoguchi Shihan Visit 2026! 🌟

We are honoured to announce that Shinichi Mizoguchi Shihan (7th Dan) 🥋 will be returning to our region for special training events in Brisbane at Kansai Karate Honbu Dojo 🇦🇺 and also in New Zealand 🇳🇿.

This is a fantastic opportunity to train directly under an exceptional instructor from Japan 🇯🇵

Unfortunately, Kazuo Ish*tobi Hanshi will not be visiting Australia this year. While we will certainly miss his presence, we encourage all students to take full advantage of Mizoguchi Shihan’s visit.

We understand that some of our senior members who were eligible for grading may not be attending this time due to personal circumstances. That said, this event is not just about grading, it is about growth and learning.

🔥 We strongly encourage ALL students, junior and senior, to attend if possible.
�Opportunities like this are rare and incredibly valuable for your development in karate.
