Sometimes life gives you a rainbow exactly when you need one.
When I moved to the Sunshine Coast I hoped I'd eventually build another beautiful community through GROOVE.
Every new face that walks through the studio door reminds me dreams don't usually arrive all at once - they grow one conversation, one smile and one dance at a time.😊
If you're looking for movement, friendship and a little more joy, I'd love to welcome you.

Recently I shared something I notice after almost every GROOVE class: people leave feeling more connected than when they arrived.
It isn’t just anecdotal. Research suggests that when people move in rhythm together, they often experience greater feelings of trust, belonging and social connection. Some studies have also found that synchronised movement is linked with a higher pain threshold... something researchers think may reflect increased endorphin activity.
Maybe that’s why dance has been part of human communities for thousands of years?! Not because everyone needed to become a dancer, but because humans have always needed each other.
At GROOVE, we don’t all move the same.
We simply move together and perhaps that’s enough.💜

Every Friday I witness the same thing: women arrive to my class. Some know each other but many don’t.
Then we spend an hour moving together. By the end of class, something has shifted. People are chatting. Laughing. Sometimes hugging goodbye. Excited to come back together next week.
I’ve always known it was more than just exercise.
Lately I’ve been reading the research into why this happens… and it’s fascinating. It turns out our bodies may be wired to connect through movement.
More on that next time.

Sometimes the hardest part is walking through the door for the first time.
After that, the music takes over.
No choreography to memorise.
No judgement.
No getting it wrong.
Just one hour to reconnect with yourself through movement.
If you’ve been thinking about coming, tonight is a beautiful night to start.
Send me a message if you have any questions—I know what it’s like to be the new person. 💛

So many people tell me they nearly didn’t come to their first GROOVE class because they thought they couldn’t dance.
The funny thing is… that’s exactly who GROOVE is for.
You don’t need rhythm.
You don’t need fitness.
You don’t need to know any steps.
You just need to show up willing to move in your own way.
If you’ve been watching from the sidelines, I’d love to meet you tonight. 💛

If GROOVE had one dress code, this would be it.
JUST BE YOURSELF!
No perfect rhythm.
No perfect body.
No perfect fitness.
Just your body.
Your music.
Your way.
That's where the magic begins.
That's what GROOVE is all about.

Curious about GROOVE, but still not sure whether to give it a try this Tuesday? 💜
I completely understand. Trying something new can feel a little daunting.
The beautiful thing about GROOVE is that it’s probably the easiest movement class you’ll ever do.
You’ll be gently guided, but there’s no choreography to memorise and no pressure to get the moves “right.” Everyone follows the same simple idea while moving in a way that feels good in their own body.
No judgement.
No comparing.
No worrying what you look like.
In fact, the only thing people really notice is how much fun everyone is having.
If you’ve been looking for a welcoming community, great music and a joyful way to move your body, we’d love to have you.
