Your shot can start strongโbut what happens if your position changes during expansion?
Losing your T-posture, stability, or even changing your head angle as you expand can create problems in your shot. Even something as simple as lifting the front arm can change the way youโre moving through the shot.
But hereโs the question: what muscles are actually doing that work? ๐ค

For many squad members, it was also their first time shooting a national event, so congratulations to all who competed. Look out next year...

On a personal note, it's a very proud coach moment to see so many amazing archers dedicate themselves towards their goals, and to see it all come together at indoor nationals is very inspiring to me. There were countless moments of teamwork, sportsmanship, lessons learned, overcoming adversity and personal growth in the event and preceding preparations.
We've got many other exciting events coming up, and our focus will now shift towards the target nationals in October... Stay tuned.
And finally... a very special thank you to MPB, SQAS, the judges and all of the volunteers who helped run this event flawlessly.

Are you struggling to find the right string picture? Your head position might be part of the problem.
Thereโs a correct head position for achieving a consistent anchor and string pictureโbut itโs not as simple as just moving your head into place.
Your posture and even your weight distribution can influence where your head ends up during the shot.
Soโฆ do you have a little โbobble headโ syndrome going on? ๐

How high should you actually raise your bow before coming onto the target? ๐น
Thereโs a simple rule of thumb: raise the bow to around eye level at the apex, then come down onto the target.
But why that height?
Thereโs a reason behind the way you raise the bowโand understanding it can help make your setup more consistent and controlled.
Do you know why we raise to eye level? ๐

Learning the right positions is only part of the process. The next challenge is learning how to transition between them.
When you're first learning a new skill, it's easy to focus on getting each position rightโbut what happens in between those positions matters too.
Position one. Position two. Now, how do you get from one to the other?
This is just a small part of our Rogue Archery Masterclass, where we break down position, repetition, and transition to help archers build a more connected and consistent shot process.

What happens if your arrow starts slowing down as you expand?
It might look like you're maintaining the shot, but that change in arrow speed can show that your application of power isn't staying smooth through the expansion.
So, what happens when you pre-draw, check your position, and then move into the next stage of the shot?
Is your power actually staying consistent all the way through expansion? ๐
This explaines the details of expansion, power application, and what to look for in your shot.

Are you drawing your bow with your handโor with your back?
The loading stage isnโt about simply pulling the string with your hand. Itโs about setting the scapula on the drawing side and guiding the drawing elbow around into the full-draw position.
So, what does โback tensionโ actually mean?
This is just a small part of our Rogue Archery Masterclass, where we break down the loading stage, scapula movement, and the mechanics behind a stronger, more controlled draw.

Before you can build a consistent shot, you need to understand the positions that make it up. ๐น
For new archers, the learning process starts with the fundamentalsโlearning each position and understanding how they come together as part of the shot.
So, how well do you know your positions?
What do you think Position 1 is? ๐
Here, we break down the fundamentals of technique and guide you through the progressions needed to build a stronger, more consistent shot.
