There’s a lot of noise around being healthy as we age…

Eat more protein.
Lift weights.
Take creatine.
Drink more water.
Walk more.
Sleep eight hours.
Manage your stress.
Look after your hormones.

And most women I know aren’t sitting there thinking, Oh wow, I had no idea.

We know.

The hard part is trying to do all of it while working, raising teenagers, running a house, remembering the appointments, doing the groceries, making dinner and being the person everyone else seems to need something from.

Somewhere along the way, looking after yourself became the thing you’d get to once everything else was done.

Except everything else is never done.

Maybe this stage of life doesn’t need another list of things you should be doing.

Maybe it starts with putting yourself back on the list.

And if you’re not quite sure how to do that yet, we’re here when you’re ready. 🤍

I’m time poor too.

I got home at 4:15pm tonight.

We needed to eat by 4:45pm.

And we needed to be back out the door by 5:30pm.

I had two choices.

Grab takeaway because there wasn’t enough time…

Or use the 30 minutes I did have.

So I cooked.

Nothing fancy. Nothing perfectly prepped. Just a decent, nutritious meal on the table before we all headed back out the door.

And I think this is the part we don’t talk about enough.

Most women aren’t struggling because they don’t care about their health.

They’re struggling because they’re fitting themselves in around work, kids, teenagers, appointments, sport, dinner, washing, everyone else’s needs… and a life that rarely slows down.

I’m not standing on the other side of that telling you to “make more time.”

I’m in it too.

Sometimes looking after yourself isn’t about finding an extra hour in your day.

It’s about deciding what you’re going to do with the little pockets of time you already have.

And some days, you’ll absolutely choose the takeaway. So will I.

But one busy day doesn’t have to turn into another week of putting yourself last.

If this feels like your life right now, we see you.

We are you.

And we’re here.

Send us a message. x

Maybe the biggest risk isn’t failing.

Maybe it’s spending another year waiting until you feel ready.

The women you see getting stronger, trying new things and surprising themselves didn’t start because they suddenly became confident.

They started.

And confidence caught up.

Hard doesn’t always mean you’re doing it wrong.

Sometimes it means you’re finally choosing yourself after years of putting everyone else first.

The first class might feel hard.
Getting out of bed might feel hard.
Starting again when you don’t feel as fit or strong as you once did might feel really hard.

But you are allowed to be a beginner.
You are allowed to struggle.
You are allowed to take your time becoming the woman you know is still in there.

Don’t confuse discomfort with failure.

You’re not behind. You’re rebuilding.

What it’s really like having Kirby as a boss…

She sends you video messages from the bath, makes sure you can’t see her ti***es, tells you she’s absolutely wrecked… and then somehow turns it into the pep talk you didn’t know you needed.

Three kids.
Three different dinners.
A business to run.
Five hours’ sleep.
A back that’s killing her.
And absolutely nothing left in the tank.

But tomorrow is a new day.

Put your big-girl pants on. Move your body. Eat well. Get some sleep. Be kind to yourself.

And she’ll see you on the other side.

Just another completely normal message from the boss.

I made something for those of us firmly in our boring era:

The Boring Girl’s Guide to Feeling Good in Your 40s.

No 47-step wellness routine. Just the things we actually want women focusing on — and how to make them fit into a real life.

Comment BORING and I’ll send it to you. 👇🏼😂

Perimenopause can make looking after yourself feel like another full-time job. 😵‍💫

Protein. Magnesium. Steps. Strength training. Vitamin D. Sleep. Stress. Omega 3s…

And somehow you’re supposed to do ALL of it while still managing work, kids, dinner and everyone else’s life.

But here’s what we’ve learnt from helping women through this stage:

You don’t need to do everything.
You need to know what actually matters for YOU — and have a way of making it doable.

That’s the part we help with.

Not another giant checklist.
Not another “perfect” routine you’ll follow for three weeks.

There’s a much simpler way we approach training, recovery and consistency with our women — and it’s probably not what you think.

I’ll share more on that this week. 👀

For now, tell me… which one of these are you currently trying to keep on top of?
