Skate down under ends with a cliff hanger | Olympic Winter Institute of Australia The jury is still out on who will represent Australia in the Ladies figure skating event at the final Olympic qualification competition in Obersdorf, Germany next month.

Skate Down Under - Day 2 The final day of competition saw Brendan Kerry take out the men's program, his sister Chantelle take out the ladies, and duo Greg Merriman and Danielle O'Brien win with a playful performance in the ice dance.

It's a lovely day when you can wake after 4 hours sleep, feel completely brain dead and yet still be smiling. So many people worked so hard together to keep the skating dreams alive in our kids and young adults.
A lovely lady summed it all up for me with the comment 'give them the chance to light the fire within'. Well, that sure happened at Skate Down Under! The standard of skating was exceptional and the comradely support for all skaters from 8 countries was a wonderful thing to see.
