🤿 Sunday Morning with the Manta Club
What better way to spend a Sunday than catching up with like-minded divers, enjoying a sausage sizzle and heading underwater together?
After a bit of gear sorting at Perth Scuba, the Manta Club crew headed to Robb’s Jetty for the morning’s dive.
Visibility was around 3–4 metres, and it seems everyone had a very different adventure! Some divers spotted octopuses, cuttlefish, stingrays and plenty more… while others enjoyed a scenic tour of the sand and weeds. 😂
Whatever they found—or didn’t find—everyone came out smiling after getting their underwater fix.
Thanks to everyone who joined us, and a big thank you to DM Guy for leading another great Manta Club morning!

🎉 Congratulations to our newest PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialists! 🎉
A huge well done to these legends who completed their PADI Dry Suit Diver Specialty with Instructor Ethan on Sunday, 23 August.
They’ve mastered the skills to dive warm, dry and comfortably buoyant—opening the door to longer dives, cooler waters and even more underwater adventures. 🤿
Fantastic work, divers, and a big thank you to Ethan for guiding them through their specialty course!

🦄 Seahorses were the goal—and we found plenty!
The sunshine brought the divers out, with 24 people joining us for breakfast at Perth Scuba before heading to Woodman Point for our Manta Club dive.
With calm conditions and sunshine overhead, it was the perfect spot to go searching for seahorses—and the dive certainly delivered! We found LOTS of seahorses, along with nudibranchs and even a cuttlefish. 🤿
There was no sign of our resident decorator crab, who is usually hiding beneath a rock near the beginning of the dive, but we’re sure he’s still out there somewhere.
Thanks to everyone who joined us for an excellent sunny morning. It certainly felt like warmer days are on their way! ☀️

🎲 We rolled the dice on Wednesday night… and came up lucky!
It’s been a little blowy around Perth lately, and the reports from the Omeo Wreck weren’t exactly brilliant. But that didn’t stop 12 keen divers—including an impressive eight Divemasters—from turning up to test the conditions.
Thankfully, the gamble paid off! The water was relatively calm, and while the visibility varied throughout the dive, there were still some decent patches to explore.
Keep an eye on the page for photos of the weird and wonderful underwater greeblies spotted along the way. 📸🐙
Thanks to everyone who joined us for another great Manta Club night dive!

🦈 That face! Who else loves meeting a Port Jackson shark at Rottnest Island?
Despite their impressive teeth, Port Jackson sharks are generally harmless to divers. These slow-moving, bottom-dwelling sharks use their unusual front and flattened back teeth to grasp and crush hard-shelled prey such as sea urchins, molluscs and crustaceans.
They’re easy to recognise by their blunt head, ridges above the eyes and dark, harness-like markings. During the day, divers will often find them resting beneath ledges or inside Rottnest Island’s limestone caves and swim-throughs.
Remember: look, photograph and enjoy—but give them space and never touch or disturb resting marine life.

🐋 It’s that time of year again — the humpback whales are returning to the waters around Rottnest Island!
There’s already plenty to look forward to on a Blue Destiny scuba diving charter: two beautiful dives, spectacular underwater scenery and a great day out on the ocean. But during whale season, the journey to and from Rottnest can bring an unforgettable bonus!
Keep your eyes on the horizon for blows, tail flukes and even the occasional spectacular breach as these magnificent humpbacks travel along our coast. Sightings are never guaranteed, but when they happen, they certainly make an already brilliant day of diving even more special.

🤿 Would you swim through here?
Rottnest Island’s limestone reefs are filled with spectacular arches, caves and swim-throughs just waiting to be explored.
Venture beneath the reef and the scenery completely changes. Colourful sponges cover the limestone walls, schools of fish shelter beneath the ledges and brilliant blue water shines through openings ahead. It’s easy to see why these are some of our favourite places to dive!
Every site around Rottnest has something different to discover aboard Blue Destiny.
