MIDWEEK PENNANT ROUNDUP
Week 4
Sadly, the women’s team lost to Yass last week. However, a great day was had by all as the Yass ladies are lots of fun, very friendly and always welcoming.
The men’s team had a bye and remain at the top of their ladder.

Best of luck in this week’s games. Canberra ladies play away against Queanbeyan, and the men play a home game against Yass.

Part 5: The history of Canberra Bowling Club

DID YOU KNOW?
In April 2016 the first synthetic green was installed. Shortly after, the Minister for Sport and Recreation, Yvette Berry, presented Canberra Bowling Club with a grant of $74,500 to assist in the building of their second synthetic surface, making it the first all-synthetic bowling club in the ACT.
During the official grant presentation, the Minister noted “that it was encouraging to see that the club has taken the proactive approach in identifying that change was needed to improve their business model and enable improved community and member access to their facilities all year round. The conversion to a synthetic surface will reducing the club’s maintenance and water costs and support year-round competition.”
