With concert season approaching, it’s the perfect time to help our dancers fuel their bodies for long days of dancing!

Our fabulous Miss Tiahna—an LCDC graduate, former full-time dance student, and accredited sports nutritionist—is bringing Fuel with Tiahna to LCDC for a fun, practical session designed especially for dancers.

💪 VOLUNTEERS WANTED: MUSCLES NEEDED! 💪

It’s time to give our Purple Studio a fabulous new floor—and we’d love some helping hands!

🟣 Thursday 8 October (evening) – Pre-lay
Approximately two hours to help carry the flooring rolls upstairs and get them positioned and ready.

🟣 Saturday 10 October from 9:30am – Laying Day
A few hours helping us lay and seal the new floor.

Requirements:
✅ A little bit of muscle
✅ The ability to spend some time on your hands and knees
✅ A willingness to get stuck in!

No flooring experience required—just come ready to lend a hand and help us create a beautiful new dance floor for our students.

We donated heaps of our old tutus (and the tutu tree) to The Shed on Friday. Most were painstaking handmade with lots of love, but just weren’t going to get wear by current students with forever changing fashions, limited sizing due to not being stretch fabric, and some needing lots of work to make them ready for stage again - mostly that would take more time than making new ones.

We were thrilled to see this post from The Shed and how many people were heading in to have a look and purchase. We hope all these tutus find new homes and make someone who might not be able to do ballet, always dreamed of wearing a tutu or struggling to find one of their own cheaply - very very happy.

It’s great to give back to the wonderful Canberra community when we can! 💜

Headshots for our end-of-year concert program start this week!

Students will quickly pop out of class to have their photo taken, and we’ll work through classes as efficiently as possible.

📅 Photography will run until Saturday 5th September. After this date, we won’t be able to take professional headshots, so a previous photo or placeholder may need to be used.

✨ All current students will be included in the program, even if they aren’t participating in the concert.

No need to do anything other than make sure your dancer has neat and tidy hair. Just come along to class as usual, and we’ll take care of the rest! 💜

The last event from Orange Eisteddfod is The Betty Kiernan Ballet Scholarship, which has been won by a considerable number of LCDC dancers over the years.

This year it was awarded to Claire, with Savannah and Kaya both making the finals.

Savannah was also awarded the Most Promising Ballet Dancer Award.
