James Welsh registered this morning, just in time to be able to attend our first pre-season training at Radford. That makes 51.

Our next training is in two weeks so if you want to be able to participate but haven’t already registered

We’ve hit 50 with the return of Jamie MacDonald - he last played for us in February 2023.

With our first pre-season training on Sunday, you need to be registered before you can train.

Thanks to all that attended the AGM, the minutes will be out shortly.

We would like to firstly thank our executive committee from last year and welcome our executive committee for the 2026/27 season.

Unsurprisingly, all were re-elected uncontested:

Wendell Zwiers - President
Jason Collyer - Vice President
Sath Sabesan - Treasurer
Ryan Hopkins - Secretary.

Unfortunately we didn’t receive any nominations for our general committee, so we are asking club members to consider the role and reach out.

General committee don’t often get too many tasks other than acting as a sounding board for ideas or issues and the occasional admin task to help the committee.

Remember it’s YOUR club and many hands make light work.

The club’s AGM is on TOMORROW, Thursday, 27 August at Civic Pub (Private Dining Room-right hand side of the main bar) from 5:30pm.

Be good to get a good turn out and not just the usuals 😎

We encourage you to nominate to become part of the committee and have input into YOUR club.

Amongst all our registrations, one player has decided to try his luck with Tuggeranong in Premier cricket - farewell and good luck to Abin Francis!

Aarya Bhatia is our sixth new registration, thanks to the recommendations of Peter Lisle and James Welsh!

Please join us in welcoming our fifth new player for the 2026/27 season, Michael Cole. That’s registration number 46!

Michael has been playing LMS for the Bashed Crabs alongside Jake Thomas. 🏏

Cricket season is fast approaching and preparations are kicking into full gear.

As part of post-season feedback, we are implementing a selection committee for this season. It gives us great pleasure to announce that committee:

Supported as always with the stats and tracking necessary by Bronwyn Calver.

To support the committee we are also announcing the successful captains for our three grades. (There is still hope for a fourth team with enough registrations, so spread the word).

1st Grade Captain: Michael Smith, supported by Mathias Bust and Ryan Hopkins as VC
4th Grade Captain: Daniel Smith, supported by Jason Booth as VC
6th Grade Captain: Jason Collyer, supported by Dean Morgan and Sam Lisle as VC

We thank everyone for putting their hands up for these important roles and look forward to a successful season.

Reminder this weekend of our first pre-season get together to dust off the cobwebs. We have a number of new players so be sure to introduce yourself and make them feel welcome to the Barton family.

Finally, don't forget to either get your nominations in for the AGM for the executive committee roles or attend on the night with your forms ready to be endorsed.
