πŸ₯‹ WHAT AN AWESOME DAY FOR TAEPHOON! πŸ₯‹
What an incredible day for Taephoon at the Brisbane Taekwondo Open today!
A huge thank you to Edge Taekwondo and One Taekwondo for putting on such a wonderful, fun and well-run competition. A special thank you also to the marshalling team for working with our students and helping ensure they were able to compete in their poomsae events before heading across to sparring. We really appreciated your help and flexibility throughout the day. ❀️

Our athletes gave it their all, with some stepping onto the competition mat for poomsae and sparring for the very first time.
It takes courage to step onto that mat knowing you’re going to be judged on your technique or knowing you have an opponent in front of you ready to throw kicks and punches. Just having the courage to step forward, give it a go and face that challenge is something to be proud of.

For me, competition isn’t always about winning GOLD. It’s an opportunity to find out where we are, recognise how far we’ve come, and discover what we still need to work on as we continue towards the bigger stage at Nationals.

Winning can come in so many different ways.
πŸ₯‹ Stepping onto the mat for the first time.
πŸ₯‹ Trying poomsae in competition.
πŸ₯‹ Having your first sparring match.
πŸ₯‹ Learning how to fight wearing a face shield.
πŸ₯‹ Controlling your nerves.
πŸ₯‹ Getting back up and trying again.
πŸ₯‹ Supporting and encouraging your teammates.

Every one of those things is a win.
πŸ† TODAY’S RESULTS πŸ†
πŸ₯‡ Ryan – Sparring GOLD
πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡ Imilyn – Sparring GOLD & Poomsae GOLD
πŸ₯‡ Jaxon – Two sparring fights, two wins and GOLD!
πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆ Cayla – Sparring GOLD & SILVER, Poomsae SILVER & 6th Place
πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆπŸ₯ˆ Pelia – Poomsae GOLD & SILVER, Sparring SILVER
πŸ₯‡πŸ₯ˆ Fabian – Poomsae GOLD & Sparring SILVER
πŸ₯ˆ Levi – Sparring SILVER
πŸ₯ˆπŸ† Carlo – Won his first fight to earn his place in the final, where he put in a strong performance to take home SILVER. Carlo was also awarded the Senior Sparring Athlete Trophy!

So today Taephoon came home with:
πŸ₯‡ 7 GOLD
πŸ₯ˆ 7 SILVER
πŸ† 1 Senior Sparring Athlete Trophy
πŸ’ͺ And a HUGE bag full of experience, confidence and life lessons!

The medals and trophy are fantastic, but what makes me even prouder is seeing our athletes challenge themselves, learn from each experience, overcome their nerves and support one another along the way.

A massive thank you to our fantastic support team, families, coaches and everyone back at Taephoon who helps our athletes prepare, train and believe in themselves. Success like this doesn’t happen because of one person. It comes from everyone working together.

These achievements belong to all of us. Everyone played a part, and everyone shared in today’s success. I couldn’t be prouder of our Taephoon family. ❀️πŸ₯‹ALL FOR ONE AND ONE FOR ALL!
