Poor running mechanics and repositioning of the legs through the jump can lead to a poor entry into BFC where the body comes down with both legs at BFC.

The implications are discussed in the video.

Always the most pulverising topic when it comes to posting content.

If you’re in the β€˜stop bowling no balls camp’ then you’d prioritise the front crease and treat the stutter and over-striding as secondary.

Likely exaggerating the issue.

What people will likely miss is how the front leg enters FFC.

This is a consequence of the position at BFC.

Which is a consequence of how the left leg recovers as you takeoff for the jump to get into a position to not plant forwards - often pushing over the front line.

Versus being able to pull back into the Snap.

I focused on the running mechanics and Snap. Then at the end addressed the no ball - and we got it to a cm behind. (Plus some poor ones 50cm behind).

βœ… Improved running mechanics
βœ… Better Flow / Rhythm
βœ… Using front leg better
πŸ“ˆ Improvement in No Balls without compromising runup.

βœ… Work in progress for this young Fast Bowler who’s just finished the Dowling carnival.

Snap looks good

Run-up will continue to be developed.

Key focus area at BFC with the legs repositioning to be taller (more hip extended / less hinging) for safety and longevity.

❗️ This flaw will lower your ball speed and also potentially open you up to a less efficient bowling arm pathway that can negatively impact accuracy.

πŸ”‘ Ball Speed = Momentum (transferred) + Snap

That’s a simple way of visualising it.

When you try and muscle the ball you lose momentum in your transfer and focus solely on the bowling arm & rotation.

So you miss the powerhouse of the legs and trunk.

βœ… Making sure there are no weak links in the kinetic chain of your Snap so you can amplify the Energy in your Run-up into your Snap gives you the best chance for Ball Speed.

It also means there is less compensating / collapsing which can influence consistency and accuracy.
