The winner of the 2026 Croquet Queensland Presidents Medal was Bob Martin from Eildon with a very delighted Claire Warriner (Windsor) being the Runner-up. CAQ President John van Barneveld awarded the 2 medals.

The weekend conditions at Caloundra were perfect for this event. A full round robin was played by the 16 entrants.
Bob won 12 games with Claire winning 10.
All scores can be reviewed on CroquetScores at https://croquetscores.com/2026/gc/caq-qld-presidents-medal

Thankyou to my great team of members at Caloundra for helping run the event again this year. Thanks also for the support of our hard working Referees.

TIP OF THE DAY....Croquet is all about the perfect alignment... Use your nut to stay steady whilst you complete your follow through. Don't let the nut loosen too soon. ....BTW this is the most important factor of a good Jump shot!

Over the weekend after the very wet week we hosted the Queensland Golf Croquet Open Singles. It was such a fun weekend.

The weather was great the competition was brilliant and the spirit of all was absolutely on a high!. Just check it out...after we managed to get our courts back.

I will upload the more of the photos in the next 24hrs.

Great results for Southport members Charles Ernst and Mary McMahon

This weekend Caloundra is hosting the Queensland Open Singles Golf Croquet Championship. 21 Players entered in 3 blocks of 7. 19 from Queensland and 2 very welcome entries from WA.
Check out Croquet Scores for the players and their progress over the 3 Days https://croquetscores.com/2026/gc/caq-qld-open-singles/
Preparing the courts has been quite a challenge due to the sometimes torrential rain. Fortunately our excellent mowing and marking folks have found gaps in the weather to make it the best that can be in the conditions.
GOOD NEWS: No Rain forecast for the 3 days of play.

Robyn Brown is the Tournament Manager
Sue Green is the Tournament Referee.

If you can, Do Drop Down and watch some great play. Maybe you'd like to take a ticket or 3 in our Raffle (see the image)

We put out an invite to the sunny coast region's AC players for an afternoon of games and a get together. NO COMPETITION, NO PRIZES, NO EXPECTATIONS. Was it successful?

Hell Yes! 24 AC players came from all corners and even 1 from Ballarat, Victoria. We used all of our 6 courts for a most delightful afternoon.

A lot will come from this sort of event. Sarah Widin (Sunshine Region President) and I would encourage other regions to look at these non-competitve get togethers. It is great for the health of all Croquet Varients.

The weather was just perfect, the company was stunning and the croquet lots of fun.

We asked if we should do this again. ABSOLUTELY was the reply. We are looking to make it a monthly get together. We are fortunate that we are in a central location for the Sunshine Coast and Bribie.
