Trying to crawl out from under the bar after hip thrusts like a stranded turtle š¢.
Solution:
Tape on the floor so the bench goes in the same spot every time and I can roll the bar straight out.
Very high-tech system.
Works a treat.
Anyone else got weird home gym hacks?

Project Me ā Phase One: Reset š„°
Phase One for me is simple.
Itās about making the time and space to actually put some effort back into myself.
This morning I started my Sunday down at glorious Trinity Beach. Coffee in hand, watching the dog run around like an idiot. It was the best way to start the day.
Normally Iād drift through the morning and then later feel that low-level stress of āI still need to get organised.ā
Instead, I decided to make it a priority.
I came home and got my food prep done early. Got organised. Instead of leaving everything until late in the day or scrambling through the week.
And now I can actually enjoy the rest of Sunday knowing Iāve set myself up for a great week.
Because Iāve learned this the hard way, if I donāt deliberately structure my week, it runs me. Work is busy. Life is full. Itās probably as streamlined as it can be⦠and itās still busy.
So this first phase isnāt extreme. Itās not about slashing calories or smashing myself in the gym.
Itās about foundations.
Food
⢠Protein with every meal
⢠Lots of vegetables and fibre
⢠Proper carbohydrates ā oats, quinoa, brown rice
⢠Eating enough so Iām not hungry and picking
⢠Fueling properly, not ābeing goodā
If I donāt prep on Sunday, the week falls apart. Simple as that.
So Iāve organised:
Chicken with pumpkin, broccoli, cauliflower and beans for the crazy nights.
Oats with protein, blueberries and flax ready for breakfast.
Tuna salad bulked out with quinoa and brown rice and lots of fresh herbs for flavour.
Chocolate brownie Quest bars for an afternoon treat.
Low sugar natural yoghurt if I feel like something at night.
Nothing fancy. Just simple and yummy!
šāāļøTraining
⢠Three proper strength sessions
⢠8,000 steps most days
Thatās it.
š Joy - One thing during the week that fills my cup.
Something on the weekend that isnāt work and I really enjoy!
Because hereās what Iāve realised.
Somewhere in the last 10ā15 years, I got very good at showing up for everyone else and putting myself at the bottom of the list.
Project Me is about learning to show up for myself again.
Not dramatically.
Not all-or-nothing.
Just consistently. Calmly. Intentionally.
Rebuilding routines.
Rebuilding strength.
Rebuilding me.
Week One and I'm actually excited š.
P.s I've even bought some fabric in attempt to use the sewing machine I bought a year ago. One step closer to having a hobby š¤£.
Finding my mojo.
Project Me starts now.
Somewhere between kids, work, family and ageing parents⦠I lost a bit of me.
Ever wake up and thinkā¦
Who even am I outside of all the roles?
So this is me figuring it out.
Putting the focus back on my health, my strength, my energy.
Iām turning 50 feeling amazing.
Come along for the ride. ā¤ļø š
