Calling all our Little Lions, MiniRoos and Competitive Junior players, along with coaches, managers, families and our amazing club committee!

We’re excited to celebrate the 2026 season together at our Club Presentation Day! 🎉

📅 This Sunday, 13 September 2026
🕞 3:30pm arrival | 4:00pm start
📍 Leichhardt Junior Soccer Grounds – Jeff Pezzutti Park

It’s a special afternoon to celebrate our players, coaches, volunteers and the incredible Leichhardt family! 🦁❤️

🏆 Every player will receive a club trophy or medal, with special club awards also presented.
🌭 Sausage sizzle and a drink provided for players.
👕 Players, please wear your club training shirt.
🪑 BYO chair or picnic blanket.
🎨 Face painters will be ready from 3:00pm!

Bring the family, settle in and help us celebrate another fantastic season of football! ⚽️🙌

As the season wraps up, we're running a boot swap at our Junior Presentation. Got boots your kids have outgrown? Bring them along and swap for a pair that they can grow into or simply donate them if you don't need to take a pair.

✅ Bring a pair you no longer need (any size, still wearable)
✅ Take a pair that fits your junior – no cost, no fuss
✅ Happy to just donate without swapping – every pair helps
✅ Drop off / pick up at the clubhouse or hand them in at Junior Presentation.

Happy 85th Birthday, Mr John Bomben! 🎉🎈🎂🎊

Today we celebrate a very special milestone for our life member and club founder, Mr Bomben.

Mr Bomben isn't just part of our club's history, he is part of the very fabric of Cairns football. As one of the key people behind the game's growth in our region, his vision and dedication laid the foundation for everything Leichhardt has become. Generations of players, families, and volunteers have benefited from the community he set out to build all those years ago. His legacy lives on every time a player pulls on a jersey and takes to the field with us.

On behalf of the entire Leichhardt family, past and present, we wish Mr Bomben a wonderful birthday and thank him for everything he has given this club and this game.

🔴⚫ FINALS RESULTS | LEICHHARDT LIONS 🦁

A huge weekend of finals football for our Lions, with seasons on the line and Grand Final spots up for grabs!

Our Premier Men fought hard right to the end but went down 2–1 to Stratford. That brings their 2026 campaign to a close. A massive thank you to the players, coaches and supporters for everything they’ve given this season. ❤️🖤

Our U23 Men went down 3–2 to Edge Hill, but their finals journey isn’t over yet! They get another chance next week in the Preliminary Final to book their place in the Grand Final. 👊

🦁 U14/16 FQPL Lionesses — WHAT A WIN!
A thrilling 4–3 victory sees the girls punch their ticket to the GRAND FINAL! 🏆🔥

🦁 U12/13 FQPL Lionesses — GRAND FINAL BOUND!
Another brilliant performance from our Lionesses sees them through to the big one next week! ❤️🖤

Our U12/13 Div 1 Lionesses fought right until the final whistle but went down 3–2 to Comets in a cracking contest. Their season comes to an end, but they can be incredibly proud of the fight and determination they showed all year. 👏

And now… IT’S GRAND FINAL WEEK! 🏆

Leichhardt will have FOUR JUNIOR TEAMS playing for Grand Final glory:

Our Leichhardt Prem Men have earned their place in the finals, and now it’s 3rd v 4th in a huge semi-final at Endeavour Park. 🦁🔥
Our Leichhardt U23 Men have won the premiership and now it's 1st v 2nd to take their spot in the Grandfinal.
The boys have worked hard all season to get here and now they need the Leichhardt family behind them.
Grab an early dinner, get to Endeavour and make some noise for our U23 Men and Prem Men as they fight to keep their season alive.
