It's another big week of football, with three home fixtures to look forward to!

Our U23 Women return to defend home ground as they take on Edge Hill United FC.

📅 Saturday Double Header
🕐 1:00pm – Our U13 FQPL side faces Stratford Dolphins FC.
🕓 4:00pm - Our U16-18 FQPL team takes on Edge Hill United FC.

Welcome back to the start of Term 3 to all of our junior members. Keep an eye out soon for more posts for Mini Comets, our Academy, our Monday night FNQ Coe skills development sessions plus Term 3 Girls United competition all starting soon. We’ll be sending out relevant information and making posts shortly.

For those Junior Members that attended our School Holiday Camps we are super happy that you got to enjoy a fun filled and exciting time with your favourite club coaches over the holidays.

A Special mention goes out to our maintenance team headed by volunteer Russell with assistance from Paul who volunteered incredibly hard over the holiday period and last few months doing an outstanding job bringing professional expertise and highest maintenance standards to Southside Comets. Great to see the irrigation system and mowers working after being out of action for several years, you’ve saved our club thousands of dollars that can now be used to purchase more junior equipment.

Also working hard behind the scenes is our Club Executive Members making sure the club is on track to finish off another bumper year, get ready for more fantastic announcements about the work they are doing changing outcomes for our Southern Corridor families plus our incredible volunteers especially Mel, Ben S, Paul, Slaw and Yuko making our Pitchside Canteen a success week in and week out.

Our senior teams continued throughout the holiday period and this weekend of Senior Football was fantastic. Competitive senior games were played at every level and we culminated the weekend with a BBQ for volunteer Paul who is heading home after this latest holiday visit to Cairns. We hope to see Paul soon on his next visit and always love to see him back at the club when he visits, Paul’s family to us and we can’t wait to see him again 💜⚽️💜.

Matias has been playing football from a very young age, developing a strong passion and commitment to the game. This year, he has been a dedicated and invaluable member of the Premier team alongside his fellow teammates. His strength, determination, and passion give the team a commanding presence on the pitch, and his contributions have been instrumental throughout the season. We hope to see Matias continue to be a valued part of the club for many more seasons to come.

A massive last 3 days here at our Comets School Holiday Skills Camp.

The kids had an absolute ball with a mix of structured skill based sessions, mini world cup games, shooting challenges, a footgolf tournament, football quizzes and of course, the 2026 World Cup knockout matches playing on the big screen throughout the camp.
