The backbone of our Pearls Famile our amazing coaches, we have been incredibly lucky to have two of the very best leading our Pearls this season.

Jake – thank you for sharing your knowledge, experience and love of the game with our girls. You challenged them every session, were always tough but fair, and helped each player grow in confidence and skill. And of course… thank you for the legendary homemade rocky road that kept everyone smiling! 🍫

Jane – thank you for bringing endless energy, the best tunes, and for never asking the girls to do anything you wouldn’t do yourself. Whether you were running drills alongside them or lifting the team’s spirits, your enthusiasm was contagious and made every training session one to remember. 🎶🏀

We can never truly thank you enough for the countless hours, the sweat, the tears, the sore voices and the unwavering commitment you’ve poured into this team. You believed in our girls, pushed them to be their best, and helped create memories that will last a lifetime.

Jake, we wish you all the very best at your next representative tournament—we know you’ll continue to inspire every team you’re part of.

🏀 DAY 3 – ONE MORE TO GO! 💙💛

Preparing for Day 3 of the State Championships, and the Cairns U14 Pearls are ready for another exciting challenge!

In the morning we take on the Eastside Knights in our final pool game. The girls have shown incredible heart, resilience and teamwork throughout the tournament, and they’re ready to leave it all on the court one more time. 💪🔥

After tomorrows game, we’ll find out our finals fixture and where our championship journey continues. No matter what happens, this team has represented Cairns with pride, supported each other every step of the way, and embraced every challenge.

After an exciting opening day, the Cairns U14 Pearls are back on the court and ready for another big day of State Championships basketball!

Tomorrow we’ll be taking on the Bundaberg Bears and the Ipswich Force. Two more tough matchups, two more opportunities to grow, compete, and leave everything on the floor.

This team continues to show incredible determination, resilience and teamwork every time they step onto the court. No matter the challenge, these girls play with heart, hustle and pride for each other and for Cairns. 💪🔥

Back in December, this was just a dream. Since then, our girls have put in countless hours of training, early mornings, tough sessions, team meetings, and unwavering commitment—all with one goal in mind: representing Cairns at the Queensland State Championships.

We’ve travelled over 1,500 kilometres from Far North Queensland to the Sunshine Coast, proving that no distance is too great when you’re chasing your goals.

Now, it’s time to put all that hard work into action. We’re incredibly proud of every player, coach and family member who has been part of this journey. The friendships built, lessons learned and memories made along the way are already something special—and the best is still to come.

The wait is over! Day 1 of the State Championships has arrived, and the Cairns U14 Pearls are ready to hit the court and give it everything we’ve got.

Tomorrow we’ll take on the Gold Coast Breakers and the Northside Wizards in what promises to be a big opening day of basketball. Our girls have worked incredibly hard to get here, and they’re ready to compete with heart, hustle and true Pearls spirit. 💪🔥

No matter the scoreboard, we’ll be playing for each other, representing Cairns with pride, and making every possession count.
