"What an achievement from the lads — so proud of them.
From finishing with the wooden spoon last year to winning the Premiership, earning a chance to make the Grand Final, and securing the right to represent Leichhardt in the Crad Evans Final — it truly tops off an incredible season for us.
Led by our team captain Isaac, who has been an absolute beast in goal all year, our senior players Josh, Naz, Mika, Snoop, Alif and Alessio have passed on their experience to our youngsters like Sam, Jai, Stefan, Charlie and Jamie. And I can’t forget our African connection — Ben, Shukuru, Victor, Ephraim, Job, Chris and Gerard — who bring so much flair and passion to our team.
To the other players who have helped us out this year — Tommy, Keshab, Nissan, Christian, Ben C, Ben and Patrick — thank you.
Finally, we couldn’t have achieved any of this without the support of Prems coach Glenn and my coaching staff, Sarah and Anthony. Without your help this year, we would not be where we are today.
Last but not least, a massive thanks to Leichhardt Junior Soccer Club for making us feel welcome, and of course to Leichhardt Lions FC for letting me be a part of this great club.
We’ll enjoy this moment, but we know there’s still work to be done."
Coach: Jimmy Leporarti

Brian Cassey has kindly provided the action shots of the Over 45s Moriconi-Bomben Cup game held on Saturday at the Leichhardt Senior Grounds. Brian, a proud Leichhardt supporter, was part of the original Leichhardt team that took the field in 1976. Other members of the original team were also present on the day. See https://www.briancasseyphotographer.com/ for Brians incredible body of work.
Thank you to Mario De Vecchi and Sandro Soncin for their part in getting the lads together and match fit ....😜

What an amazing weekend of football, with all Leichhardt teams coming away with valuable competition points. Credit goes to our tireless committee members and volunteers (both senior and junior) for making the day such a huge success.
Thank you to the Mareeba Bulls for embracing this significant community and cultural event. A big thank you also to all the over 45 players, many of whom travelled from as far away as Brisbane to take part in this feature match.. There were plenty of laughs and, of course, plenty of beers.
More action shots to come, kindly provided by photographer Brian Cassey.
