A return to an ancient ritual of self-care. ๐ŸŒฟ

At Sundara, we believe there is wisdom in the practices that have been carried through generations โ€” timeless Ayurvedic principles that invite us to live more consciously, in harmony with ourselves, our bodies and the changing seasons.

And as we move through the transition into spring, it can be the perfect time to pause, reconnect and ground yourself through the deeply nourishing practice of Abhyanga.

Abhyanga is the Ayurvedic art of self-massage with warm oil.

But it is more than simply applying oil to the body.

It is a few precious moments to slow down.
To soften.
To breathe.
To bring your awareness back into your body.
To make self-care a daily ritual rather than something you postpone.

The beauty of Abhyanga is that it can be personalised to you โ€” your constitution, your needs and the season.

๐ŸŒฟ Vata โ€” ground, warm & nourish
๐Ÿ’ง Pitta โ€” cool, soothe & balance
๐ŸŒฑ Kapha โ€” stimulate, invigorate & awaken

At Sundara, our Ayurvedic oils have been thoughtfully chosen to support this ancient practice, from nourishing Black Sesame Oil to our Vata, Pitta and Kapha Massage Oils.

We have also created our Abhyanga Guide to help you understand the practice, choose an oil, and make this beautiful ritual part of your own self-care.

This spring, perhaps the most powerful thing you can do is slow down.

Warm the oil.
Place your hands on your body.
Take a breath.
And come home to yourself.

Abhyanga โ€” an ancient Ayurvedic ritual for a more grounded, conscious way of caring for yourself. ๐ŸŒฟ

๐ŸŒฟ Welcome Spring with a little more lightness

Spring is a beautiful reminder that we donโ€™t always need to do more โ€” sometimes, we simply need to create more space for what already wants to grow within us.

Weโ€™ve created our Spring Self-Care Guide as a gentle companion for the season, bringing together simple practices inspired by Ayurveda, yoga, Chinese Medicine and seasonal living.

Inside, youโ€™ll find ideas to help you:

๐ŸŒฑ Wake with the morning light
๐Ÿง˜โ€โ™€๏ธ Move and breathe with greater awareness
๐Ÿฅ— Bring more lightness to your seasonal meals
๐ŸŒฟ Reconnect with nature
โœจ Clear physical and mental clutter
๐Ÿ“– Reflect through simple journaling prompts
๐Ÿ’š Create a daily self-care rhythm without turning it into another checklist

Most importantly, itโ€™s an invitation to slow down and listen inwardly.

You donโ€™t have to become someone new. You simply have to create enough space to let what is already within you unfold.

๐ŸŒธ Download your FREE Spring Self-Care Guide and welcome the season with more lightness, clarity and intention.

Some gifts are beautiful.

And some gifts carry a whole story with them. ๐Ÿค

On Monday night, I was given the most exquisite gift from one of my students โ€” a beautiful traditional Indian sari, brought all the way back from India.
She had travelled there for an Ayurvedic Panchakarma retreat, a journey I had hoped to share with her, and although I couldnโ€™t make the journey myself, she returned with this beautiful reminder of India and thoughtfulness.

As I held the sari, I was reminded of something I often feel through yoga and the work we share together:

It is the connections we make that stay with us.

The kindness.
The thoughtfulness.
The moments shared.

The experiences we carry with us โ€” and sometimes bring back to one another.

This sari isnโ€™t simply a beautiful piece of fabric.

For me, it carries a story of friendship, gratitude,
connection and the beautiful relationship between teacher and student.

Thank you for thinking of me and bringing a little piece of your journey home. ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿฝ

Some gifts truly come wrapped in love.

I Shall treasure this Always

Still carrying a little of the warmth from our first Kindle Session. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿค

There are moments that stay with us long after the fire has gone out.

A song shared between strangers.
A laugh that comes unexpectedly.
A warm cup of chai held between two hands.
A quiet moment where the mind finally feels a little lighter.

That is what our first Sundara Kindle Session gave us โ€” not something to achieve, but a space to simply be.

A space for Bhakti.
For music.
For connection.
For stillness.
For heartfelt singing and the simple joy of being together. ๐ŸŒฟ

Thank you to everyone who came, sang, listened, laughed, shared, and helped create that beautiful first spark.

We hope you felt it too โ€” that feeling of being welcomed exactly as you are.

And if you weren't able to join us this time, there will be another fire waiting. ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Our Kindle Sessions are a monthly heart offering โ€” a chance to step away from the noise of everyday life, gather in good company, share chai, sing from the heart, and perhaps leave carrying a little less than you arrived with.

The next Kindle Session is coming soon. ๐Ÿค

If your heart has been asking for a slower afternoonโ€ฆ
If you've been longing for genuine connectionโ€ฆ
If you simply want to sit around a fire and sing with kind peopleโ€ฆ

Come join us.

Just bring yourself.

We'll save you a place around the fire. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ”ฅ

Returning to the Light ๐ŸŒฑ

The seasonal Sandhi of Spring

We are standing at a threshold.

Winter has not completely left us, but something is beginning to shift.

The days are stretching a little longer. The light is returning. The earth is quietly stirring, and beneath the surface, life is beginning to move again.

In ฤ€yurveda, these spaces between seasons are known as Sandhi, sacred junctures, doorways between what has been and what is becoming. They are times of transition, and therefore times when we can be particularly sensitive to change.

And just as the earth begins to thaw, soften and awaken, we may notice movement within ourselves too.

Perhaps the body begins to ask for different foods, different rhythms, more movement or more light.

Perhaps the mind feels a little less inward and begins to reach towards possibility again.

Perhaps emotions that have been quietly resting through winter begin to stir.

And perhaps, somewhere beneath all of this, the spirit begins to whisper again , reminding us of something we have been longing to move towards.

This is why the seasonal transition is such a beautiful time for rituals of renewal.

Not necessarily to become someone new.

But to gently clear what has become heavy, stagnant or unnecessary, creating a little more space for what is ready to emerge.

Spring does not arrive all at once.

The earth doesn't force herself into bloom.

She warms. She softens. She prepares. She listens to the changing light , and then, when the conditions are right, she begins to open.

Perhaps we can do the same.

This Sandhi invites us to slow down enough to notice what is changing within us, while gently tending the body, calming the nervous system, keeping our digestive fire steady and giving ourselves the nourishment and grounding we need to cross this threshold well.

There is no need to rush into spring.

We can meet it slowly.

With warmth.
With nourishment.
With rhythm.
With intention.
With a little more light.

And perhaps, as we return to the light outside, we also begin to notice the places within us that are ready to return to life.

This is the medicine of the Sandhi , not becoming, but becoming ready. ๐ŸŒฟ

Tomorrow, we gather. ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿค

The song sheets are ready.
The chai ingredients are waiting.
And the space is slowly coming together.

Thereโ€™s something so special about preparing for a gathering that comes from the heart.

These Kindle Sessions are a little offering of Bhakti, music, connection and presence โ€” created with the hope that, even for a few hours, we can put down some of the things we carry and simply be.

Weโ€™ll sing.
Weโ€™ll share chai.
Weโ€™ll gather around the fire.
Weโ€™ll laugh, listen and perhaps meet someone new.

And most importantly, weโ€™ll create space to lighten the load of the mind and reconnect with the heart. ๐ŸŒฟ

The songs I've chosen are ones that have touched my own life deeply โ€” and tomorrow, I get to share them with you.

The 3 Subtle Essences of Ayurveda

Sometimes, balance isn't about adding something new to our lives.

Sometimes, itโ€™s about listening a little more closely to what is already happening within us. ๐Ÿค

Ayurveda offers such a beautiful way of looking inward through Prana, Tejas and Ojas โ€” three subtle essences that remind us of the different ways we experience vitality.

๐ŸŒฌ๏ธ Prana โ€” the energy that moves us.
Our breath, movement, thoughts and sense of aliveness.

โ˜€๏ธ Tejas โ€” the energy that transforms.
Our inner fire, clarity, digestion, insight and ability to turn experience into understanding.

๐ŸŒธ Ojas โ€” the energy that nourishes.
Our reserves of strength, stability, resilience and deep nourishment.

And perhaps the most beautiful part is that we don't need to have all three perfectly balanced all the time.

There are days when we need to slow down and breathe.
Days when we need to rekindle our inner spark.
And days when what we truly need is to rest, receive and be nourished.

Maybe today, instead of asking โ€œWhat should I be doing more of?โ€, we can gently ask:

โ€œWhat is asking for my attention right now?โ€ ๐ŸŒฟ

A little more movement?
A little more clarity?
Or perhaps simply a little more rest and nourishment?

This is one of the things I love about Ayurveda โ€” it invites us to come back to ourselves, not with judgement, but with curiosity, awareness and compassion.

May we learn to listen to the quieter messages within us.
May we honour what we need.
And may we remember that wellness is not about perfection โ€” it is about finding our way back to balance, again and again. ๐Ÿค

๐Ÿ”ฅ A Heartfelt Offering โ€” Sundara Kindle Sessions

My heart has been so full while preparing for this gathering. ๐Ÿ’›

Every cushion, every corner, every little detail, and every song has been chosen with love โ€” because this isn't just another event.

It's something I've been longing to share.

Bhakti Yoga has gently transformed my own life, and the songs we'll share have carried me through moments of joy, uncertainty, gratitude and healing. ๐ŸŽถ

They are beautiful, playful, passionate and soulful โ€” and each one holds a little piece of my own journey.

My greatest hope isn't that we sing beautifully.

It's that, somewhere between the fire, the music, the chai and the shared silence, you leave feeling a little lighterโ€ฆ a little more connectedโ€ฆ and perhaps a little more at home within yourself. ๐ŸŒฟ

This is the heart behind Sundara Kindle Sessions โ€” creating a warm and welcoming space where we can slow down, breathe, sing, connect and simply be.
