One month since my dad’s passing. I wanted to make sure these photos had a permanent spot on my feed.

Dad, I think about you every day. I miss you 🤍

Some bits of life I haven’t shared 🤍

We found out we were pregnant 3 weeks before our wedding, got married, and then a month later, we found out my dad had cancer.

My cousin’s daughter, Addalyn, finding out we were pregnant the day after we got married will forever be one of my favorite reactions 😂

In June, I flew home to spend precious time with my dad, and during that time, my family and friends threw me a baby shower. The “feed the baby” game had us all laughing until we cried.

2 weeks after returning to Australia, I was right back on a plane to come home and spend my dads final days with him before he passed away.

This year has been the most joyful yet most devastating, but now I’m looking forward to getting back home to Australia and getting ready to welcome our little bub into the world 🩵

Still feels surreal we’ve got a baby on the way 🩵

I will spend the rest of my life missing you 🪽

But now, more than ever, I cherish all the memories we shared.

Thank you for every sacrifice you made and for every lesson you taught me.

Thank you for showing me the world, and then continuing to travel to me and with me as I grew older.

Thank you for supporting me throughout my life.

Thank you for being my dad.

You shared my belief that life is meant to be lived — to collect moments, not things.

It hurts that your life was cut short, but seeing how you navigated these last couple of months has only shown me your true character.

And like Ryan said, so many people have commented on how well we’ve handled everything these last couple of months, and especially these last couple of weeks. But I think we can attribute that to how you raised us.

I know you will forever be with me in spirit, but I will miss getting to travel with you and enjoy life’s little luxuries together—especially sharing bowls of ice cream.

I love you so much 🤍

I’m so proud to be your daughter.

Forever,
your sweetie pie cuppycake
