Rolling since 2007. Come skate with us!

Another round of Fun Days is done. Another record-making score was reached (476 points by Silence of the Jambs). Another game was tied in the last Jam needing an Overtime Jam.

The four teams' total scores (for Round 1 and Round 2) have been tallied up and we have a NEW tournament leader: Silence of the Jambs (ahead by only 11 points).

But it's not over yet.

At Fun Days, the team that amasses the most points, across ALL THEIR GAMES, wins the whole tournament.

At our final round on Sunday 25 October, for the last time, the teams will chase down maximum points. The 2026 Tournament Champion may be decided in the final Jam of the final game?

Today, Saturday 5 September, is derby day at the Dunc Gray Velodrome and it's FREE to come watch!

Your favourite mish-mash of derby rules misfits will be jumping on-track to play in what is arguably the least-serious derby tournament in Australia: FUN DAYS!

We have two full-length games of open-gender derby:
+ Game 1 starts 11am
+ Game 2 starts 1pm.

It has come to our attention that we never did a post to tell you all that our very own SCHMIDTSTORM pulled off a hat trick plus two in Canberra a few weeks ago... MVP in every game she played, ANNND MVP of the tourney!
Not to mention a sneaky one down at the CCRDU Elemental cup earlier in the month as well. Schmitty, we are hardly keeping up! Six MVPs in five games in one month in your debut sesson is an MVP of its own - and possibly a new record?!

holy moly even trying to count them up we're getting lost - WE CAN ONLY COUNT TO FOUR OKAYYYYyyyyyyy

He's always valued but now he's got a sash to prove it.

Congrats REDACTED🏅MVP Jammer
Thanks Sun State Roller Derby 💛

If you think officiating 'normal' derby is tricky, come watch the officials deal with Fun Days rules this weekend.

Affectionately known as 'The Empire Stripes Back', they'll be ensuring we all skate in derby-direction (unless 'Anti-Derby' is spun), that we all remain inside the Engagement Zone (unless 'Out-of-Play Pivots' are activated), and that everyone is keeping the peace (especially when 'Silent Derby' is being played).

Come along and see what other experimental rules get spun. Spectators get in free (no tix needed).

Announcing the rosters for Game 2 at next weekend's Fun Days.

Tournament points leader – Fun, Forrest, Fun! – plays Silence Of The Jambs. But looking at the rosters, don't expect a quiet game from anyone – unless, of course, 'Silent Derby' is spun on the Wheel of FUNtune.

Never seen the Wheel in action? Come along and watch the silliness. Spectators get in free (no tix needed).

Next weekend is Round 2 of Fun Days – two full-length games of open-gender derby with a rather open-mind to new rules.

In Game 1, at 11am, Funder Down Under plays We Will, We Will, Block You. And looking at the rosters, we expect they definitely will block someone.

At this round, you'll also meet special guest Buddy The Substitute Jammer.

Spectators get in free (no tix needed).

Happy “Wear it Purple Day”!!! 💜🌈

Wear it Purple Day is about showing rainbow young people, and everybody around us, that they have the right to be proud of who they are! In 2026, be PROUD of who you are, celebrate and empower the diversity that surrounds each and every one of us; diversity in s*x, s*xuality and gender identities, in perspectives, in values, in everything!

Something furry and adorable is happening at the next round of Fun Days (Saturday 5 September).

At Fun Days, we use a special “Jammer Head-start Rule” that creates Power Jam starts and helps one team catch-up on points. Games are much closer and more exciting as a result.
The rule: https://drive.google.com/file/d/100lqcZEV8XROOPSLrnumlDs5hDVs7HWn/view?usp=share_link

But at this round, those Jammer head-starts have become massive. Some Jammers will be stuck in the Box for a looong time!

Enter Buddy The Substitute Jammer.

Buddy is a large teddy bear that will patiently “serve time” in the Box during these long Jammer head-starts so all the humans can be out on-track enjoying derby.

Buddy could be sitting in the Box for up to 10 minutes so players who get a penalty also get a cuddly companion to hang out with.

Want to play with Buddy at this round? The EOI is still open:

Want to come watch? Spectators get in FREE.
