Sad day today as we say our goodbyes to Ms Vee.

Violetta has been training with us for almost a year. In this video, we see her first and last time hitting the bag at Newman Boxing.

Not only has she worked her butt off in the gym, but she’s had fun, made new friends and plenty of memories along the way.

And yes… she did bust up the nicest guy in our gym’s nose last night in her final spar with Dominic Smith 😂

Thank you Vee, for being part of the team. You will be missed!

Round of applause for Jesse fabe worley, our first Newman Boxing member to take part in the Boxing Queensland International Golden Gloves!

Jesse was in the 15yr, 57kg, 0–1 fights category. Winning his first fight yesterday sent him into the final today 🥊

Unfortunately, today’s fight didn’t go our way, but we still came away with silver in a very close fight. Jesse took a very heavy low blow in the 1st, which the ref saw and gave him time to recover from. Both boys gave each other standing counts in separate rounds.

Jesse has been working so hard this last year, but this weekend he learnt what this game is all about

• Missing weight and then making weight within 15 mins
• Eyeing up boxers trying to figure out who your opponent is
• Double checking you’ve got your boxing book 😂 (thank you Nina for saving the day)

And just like that, Jesse now has the most fights under Newman Boxing haha.

Lots to work on as always, but this was a great experience for him and for me as a coach. Mixing with some of the best boxers and clubs from around Australia.

It’s great to finally be here and pick up a silver medal.

Massive thank you to Boxing Queensland for the event and everyone on the floor running the show. Over 500 fighters, 5 days, 3stages, well bloody done guys!
