Ofer has over 20 years of dance experience, including the past six years immersed in Cuban Salsa, with a particular passion for Rueda de Casino. He loves the energy, spontaneity and connection that Rueda creates between dancers, as well as the unique experience of dancing together as a group.

Originally from Guadeloupe, DJ DIEGO971 has been behind the decks for over 30 years. Now based in New Caledonia, he has played an important role in developing the local Latin dance scene, becoming one of the pioneers of Salsa, Bachata & Kizomba in the territory.

His musical style is shaped by his Caribbean roots, travels & diverse influences, blending Caribbean, Afro & Urban sounds with a natural instinct for reading the crowd.

Whether it’s an intimate dancefloor or a major event, Diego knows how to find the right sound, build the energy & keep people moving.

Kaaren is an experienced yoga and dance teacher & the creator of Salsa Caliente Dance, bringing the rhythms, movement & culture of Cuba to the Northern Rivers community. With over 20 years immersed in Cuban dance & having travelled extensively to Cuba, Kaaren has a deep understanding of its traditions & dance styles, & loves sharing these experiences through her classes, workshops, parties & Cuban cultural tours.

Based in Mullum, Kaaren teaches Cuban Salsa, Son & Rueda de Casino, she also DJs a great selection of Salsa, Bachata & dynamic Latin rhythms. Join Kaaren at Byron Latin Fiesta 2026 & experience her passion for the dance & music of Cuba!

Jean-Luc is a prominent figure in Brisbane’s Latin dance scene & one of the nicest people you will ever meet! He is a passionate promoter, event organiser & DJ. From his long-running Sunday Salsa events & regular weekly Latin dance parties to his popular DouDoule Latin Dance Camp, Jean-Luc is a master at bringing dancers together & creating vibrant, welcoming spaces.

Known for his good energy & love of a great party, Jean-Luc continues to keep the Brisbane Latin scene moving, both behind the decks & as an event host. We’re thrilled to have him join us again for Byron Latin Fiesta 2026!
