Byford Bowling Club

The finals of the Mixed Fours championships were played on Saturday for the major and the plate. There was some fantastic Bowling by all players despite the weather being really cold. All the teams played a great game and the score certainly didn’t reflect how each team played.

The winners of the major competition were Ray and Anne Bartlett , Les Harris and Jenni Dean, congratulations guys you played a fantastic game.

The major runners up were Lauris Gibb, Richard Kopacz, Rob and Dianne Wilson, congratulations.

The plate winners were Marcia Atkins, Clint Dorrington, Judi Beauchamp, Barry Brown. Congratulations guys great job.

The plate runners up were Jannie Scholz, Nonnie Carmen, George Adams , Archie Whitelaw. Congratulations to you all.

Thank you to all the players that participated you all played a good game and we’re all worthy winners, maybe next time.

The Queen of Scroungers competition has been played over the past few weeks and has seen some fantastic bowling from our ladies, with quite a few teams competing for the title.

The finals were played on Wednesday, and the ladies certainly put on a great display of bowls. Of course, there can only be one winner, and this year’s Ladies Queen of Scroungers title was taken out by Mandy Skidmore!

Congratulations, Mandy — you played an awesome game and thoroughly deserved the win. 🏆👏

Bad luck to all the other competitors who took part. You all played some fantastic bowls and should be very proud of your efforts.

Yesterday was the first round of the Mixed Fours Championship.
10 teams all dress to win the first round , all looking dapper in their pennants uniform , looks great.

Mixed Pairs Championship Update

The Mixed Pairs Championship attracted a fantastic field of 22 players, creating plenty of competition as bowlers battled for a place in the winning round. With so many members involved, there was a real buzz around the club throughout the day.

The standard of bowling was excellent, and there were a few surprise results, with some unexpected teams earning their place in the next round.

The semi-finals will be played this Sunday and promise to provide some exciting, high-quality bowling. We encourage everyone to come along, support the players, and enjoy what should be a great day of bowls.

Friday the Byford Bowling Club got together at the country club for Xmas in July , around 25 people turned up what turned out to be a great day, lots of prizes donated by Mavis as well as a Xmas cake which was great.

MENS 3 BOWL PAIRS

We have completed the second week of the Byford Men’s 3 bowl pairs, and it has been a great success with more teams than anticipated, organised by Darryl Lampitoc & Greg McDonald.
The combination of external clubs and Byford members has brought about a buzz, with a lot of activity on display.
The level of skill displayed at the club was outstanding, with all players performing admirably.
The inclusion of meat raffles, wine, and honey has been a great success.
Phill Collins and Les Harris were the deserving winners of today's game, winning both 9 ends with exceptional play.
