The Under 18.5 Men’s season came to an end yesterday with a tough Elimination Final loss.

The result hurts. No one involved wanted the season to finish this way.

But when the dust settles, these young men should hold their heads incredibly high.

They have given the Club so much to be proud of, representing the Bears with pride, commitment, resilience and belief and setting a new standard for Men’s Football at the Club.

This team made history:

🏆 Our first-ever Senior Men’s Division 1 team
🏆 Our first-ever Men’s Division 1 Finals victory
🏆 A group that has established a new benchmark for development, dedication and culture

A huge thank you to Liam and his incredibly dedicated coaching team. Your commitment to developing these young men, building a strong culture and creating opportunities for the next generation has been outstanding.

This has been more than one season. It is the result of years of development and investment, and another important step in building the future of Bears Men’s Football.

These young men have shown our younger players what is possible. They have shown what it means to earn the jumper, work for each other and represent something bigger than yourselves.

The foundation continues to grow.

To every player, coach, team manager, volunteer and supporter involved — thank you for everything you have given to the Bears.

And to the Bears Army — once again, you turned up in massive numbers yesterday. Your belief, your noise and your support means everything.

Yesterday was not the end of the journey.

The future is bright.

📢 JUNIOR COACHING OPPORTUNITIES - 2027 SEASON

The Burnside Heights Football Club is seeking Expressions of Interest for Junior Coaching positions for the 2027 season across our mixed, boys and girls football programs.

With teams anticipated across all junior age groups, we welcome applications from both internal and external candidates who are passionate about developing young footballers and creating positive sporting experiences.

🙋🏽‍♀️🙋‍♂️Whether you're an experienced coach, a current player looking to give back, or someone eager to begin your coaching journey, we'd love to hear from you.

Our junior coaches play an important role in developing not only football skills, but also confidence, teamwork, respect and a lifelong love of the game.

Applicants must:
- Be 16 years of age or older
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, the appropriate AFL Coaching Accreditation
- Hold, or be willing to obtain, a current Working With Children Check
- The Club will provide support and guidance to assist successful applicants in meeting these requirements.

We'd love your help to make the day a success.
🙋 We're looking for volunteers between 8:00am and 4:00pm, with 2-hour shifts available:

⏰ Shift Times
• 8:00am – 10:00am
• 10:00am – 12:00pm
• 12:00pm – 2:00pm
• 2:00pm – 4:00pm

Each shift requires:
🌭 2 x BBQ Volunteers
☕ 1 x Canteen Volunteer
