Once again we witnessed some amazing squash at the Finals for Season 2 at the Bundaberg Squash Courts. Results as follows:
A Grade Winners: Conor MacDonald, Chris Dimes and Marty Ryan. Runners Up: Wendy Freeman, Corey Otto and Andrew Greensill.
A Grade Plate Winners: Zachary Richter, Andrew Byrnes and Jeff Hammerlink. A Grade Line Winners: Zac Dowling and Andrew Byrnes. B Grade Winners: Albert Moteby, Mark Rewald, Rhonda Williams and Jan Glanfield. Runners Up: Joseph Curtain, Rhianni Richter, Sophie Roussounis and Hayden Evans. B Grade Plate Winners: Rick Monroe, John Slavin, Hamish and Steve Dowling. B Grade Line Winner: Joseph Curtain.
Thanks to everyone who played and particularly to the Committee members for organising supper and prizes.

Our final season for the year is the John Murray Cup, with both A Grade and B Grade competitions running on a Wednesday night.
Can’t commit to the full season? No worries — we always need reserve players.

Come down to the Bundaberg Squash Courts tonight to watch some exciting squash games. It’s the finals of A and B Grade Fixtures Season 2. A Grade winner will be decided with Eagles – Corey Otto, Andrew Greensill and Wendy Freeman playing off against Comets – Conor MacDonald, Chris Dymes and Marty Ryan. B Grade winner will be decided between Highlanders – Joseph Curtain, Khianni Richter, Sophie Roussounis and Hayden Evans against Albert Moteby, Mark Rewald, Rhonda Williams and Jan Glanfield. Come and cheer on all players and enjoy the chicken wings, cheerios and other dishes.

When and where did you start playing squash?
“I started playing in Gladstone when I was 12”

How often do you play?
“3 times a week”

Do you have a favourite shot?
“Drop down in the right hand corner”

If you had a court entrance theme, what would it be?
“Anything from Freddie Mercury”

What advice would you give to new and aspiring squash players?

“Well – I think they need to learn court etiquette and consideration to their opponent.
It’s important and often overlooked by new players.”

Five players from the Bundaberg Squash club travelled to Rockhampton to participate in the Rockhampton Open 2026 Squash Competition. Rhonda Williams C Grade, Joseph Curtain B Grade, Sophie Roussounis Junior and C Grade, Will Edwards C Grade and Jeff Hamelink A Grade. Congratulations to Sophie Roussounis who was the winner of the Junior competition. All players played well against very strong opponents.

Join us for another training session with B***y and the Beast (Russell Seesink) Friday afternoon from 5:30 - 6:00 pm designed to build strength, improve balance, and enhance overall conditioning. The session combines effective exercises that help develop muscle strength, increase stability, and improve endurance, making movement around the squash court easier. We are very fortunate to have a club that is willing to give back to their members and cover the cost of this training!
