We are working hard behind the scenes to restore our clubhouse to its former glory! ✨ Due to the ongoing cleanup efforts, we have made the difficult decision to cancel our event scheduled for May 9th. 🗓️❌
Please also be aware that the broader council cleanup is still in progress and toilet facilities have not yet been reinstated. 🚽🚫
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we get everything back up to scratch and we can’t wait to welcome you all back once the site is ready!
Thank you for your ongoing support! ❤️

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Noel Griffin, driver of boats: Blazen, Burnin, Little Loose, Cut Loose, Special Edition and others.
Although the Southern 80 outright trophy eluded Noel, he loved visiting Echuca / Moama and the Murray River. He won the Barrie Beehag outright trophy in 2009.
Noel contributed so much to our sport of water ski racing, in his role of Chairman of Ski Racing Australia in the 2010’s, and he supported events and races across the country by attending with his team.
Our thoughts are with his wife Judy & family, extended family and the ski racing community at this time.

Ben Anderson Barrage update 🔨
We recently lowered the water levels at Ben Anderson Barrage to allow post-flood inspections. Since the levels have already been reduced, we have decided to bring forward planned works to replace ageing components and ensure long-term reliability of this critical infrastructure.
We anticipate works will begin in late April and continue until August, occurring from 6am – 6pm, Monday to Saturday. Some machinery noise is expected.

🚧 SANDY HOOK UPDATE - What You Need to Know 🚧
💧 Lower Water Levels Ahead! 💧
Sunwater is refurbishing the Ben Anderson Barrage from May to August 2026 and you can expect water levels to stay low during this time. Hidden logs and debris may be closer to the surface so stay vigilant and play it safe!⚠️
🟨MSQ warning lifted✅
Great news that the yellow warning for the Burnett River has been lifted and there are no current warnings are in place!
🏡Clubhouse & Grounds🌿
Council cleanup of the carpark, facilities and grass area is ongoing. The Clubhouse is still standing strong 💪 and we just need to finish the flooring and water tanks before we’re officially back in action.
See you back at the club soon! 🚤👌

While the weather is looking fabulous ☀️ Sandy Hook isn't quite ready for visitors just yet. Maritime Safety Queensland (MSQ) is still finalising their water safety checks, and while the grounds cleanup is moving along well, the carparks remain fenced off and public facilities are closed 🚫.
There are still some damaged areas that could be a bit sketchy, so please play it safe and stay away for just a little longer. Thanks for being patient and staying clear until the cleanup is finished 🚧.
