Last Up - Denzel Falemaka
South West Spirit U16s

Denzel is a player who has exceptional talent and rugby intelligence, as well as a great work ethic and commitment to his game and club. Denzel has respectfully earn't his position as a leader withing the South West Spirit Rugby Union Club, being a positive role model for younger peers to look up to and aspire to be like. His energy and leadership is a great combination as he captains the U16s team. Coming up through the ranks as a Bunbury Bulls Junior player, he has committed to building rugby in the South West and is supporting to shine a light on the talent down in the South West. Watch this space as we continue to share more about Denzel's achievements as they come in!

Second Up - Altian Van Der Berg
South West Spirit U16s

Altian is a core team player in the U16s Spirit team member. He came to us from Arks Rugby Union Club and you can tell that Rugby runs in his veins. He is a respectful, strong team member who has a tangible presence on and off the field. Altian stands out on the field for his strong leadership skills and as an excellent and rugby smart member of the South West Spirit Rugby Union Club.

We are all so proud of you Altian, and cannot wait to see what the future has install for you. Keep going hard and playing with integrity and respect!

A huge shout out to our 3 players who were selected from South West Spirit Rugby Union Club to play at Regionals this year.

First up - Scott Day.
South West Spirit U14s

Scotty has been playing rugby since he was a Junior at Bunbury Barbarians and has always dominated the field, physically and mentally. He has a combination of talent and hard work, which is shown when he plays with his team. Scott has been an integral team mate for the U14s this year, scoring endless tries and being one to watch.
Additionally to his presence in his team, he is also a regular on the rugby field as a referee in the Southwest and regularly will put his hand up to mentor and support young players coming through.

We as a South West Spirit family are so proud of you Scotty and will be cheering you on the whole journey! Can't wait to see what the future holds for you!

If you are not busy this Saturday Our U14s team is playing their last game for the season. They will be at the Mandurah Pirates home grounds, playing against Cottesloe at 11am. Come along and cheer on our kids

Well, it’s official — we have a new South West Spirit committee in place! 🎉

Before we welcome our new committee, we want to take a moment to sincerely thank our outgoing committee, and especially our previous President, Ashley Joubert, for his incredible service to South West Spirit and rugby throughout the Southwest.

Ashley, we are truly grateful for everything you and your family have done. You have helped take rugby from where it once was to where it is today — a growing and thriving sport across the Southwest region. We appreciate your dedication, leadership and everything you have given to our rugby community. 💙💛

We’ve got plenty of work to do between now and then, and we’re looking forward to getting together as a new team and continuing to grow South West Spirit Rugby.

Today's the day! 🏉 Our teams are taking the field at Hay Park, showcasing their skills and passion across multiple age groups. It's a powerful reminder of the impact that teamwork and determination can have on our community. Our 14s Spirit boys and girls are ready to take on Wests, while our U16s are ready to face off with Wanneroo. We're sending all our players in the South West positive vibes for a day of thrilling rugby! May they play with heart, respect, and a never-give-up attitude. Let's do this, Spirit! 💪

What an effort from both our teams today.
Everyone had an early start for the adventure to Joondalup - we had some fogging issues in the bus!
14s walked away with a big win, 16s showed huge heart and gave it all with only 1 sub but never gave in and competed hard till the final whistle.
Massive thanks to the parents that made the journey to support and a massiver (new word) thank you to our volunteers that make it possible - Zion and Isaiah for running lines (with pizzazz and flourish I might add)
And our coaches Toby and Chris.
Massive day out, great to have the 2 teams together and supporting each other.

SGM and 2 home games this weekend coming, please get down and support both teams and please attend our SGM to support the clubs behind the scenes work.

And we are back on for rugby this weekend! Hope everyone had a nice break and enjoyed their holidays!

Both our 14s and 16s are travelling up to Joondalup to take on Joondalup Brothers nice and early tomorrow. The bus is leaving Hay Park at 6am (possibly before anyone even sees this post), so save travels to all players, parents, families, and coaches/officials travelling tomorrow! Play hard and leave it all on the field. Go South West Spirit! 🤍💛💙
